Hi guys n gals!
Something wierd happenned to all of my clients' Google My Business listing s a couple of days ago, the biggest shake up is that for some reason all photos in your GMB business.site listing defaulted to 3 days old.
Semrush reported an Algorithm change
Looking at Semrush Notes it says
"Nov 17, 2020: Signs of a Google Update in November 2020 - There has been evidence of a regular unannounced Google Update happening on November 17th and 18th. Webmasters have reported significant shifts in rankings, and SEMrush Sensor also detected higher than usual volatility (unconfirmed)"
What's the knock on effect?
I had an awesome photo with over 6.5k views from 2019 which was always displayed prominemently on my GMB listing when you search online for my brand name 'SEO LADY' but somehow my primary photo that was broadcast was a very old creative from over 3 years ago displaying my maiden name!
Have you been affected?
I've investigated other client GMB accounts and some are unaffected, but others are saying all photos are dated 3 days old.
How to fix? No one knows .. but
Here's what I did: Login to my GMB account and added a new photo, I specifically choose one that's eyecatching and is easily viewed on a mobile device. My aim is to garner views from today to push down any outdated photos showing as my primary image.
I also created a new post using the same image for maximum impact. I also deleted the old "Nina Greaves" creative from my account.
This is complete guesswork by myself but I started testing today and I'll update next week to see if my hunch is right.
