Large SEO Thread Deleted?

Am I missing something or did a recent large (15 page or so) SEO thread in this section get completely deleted?

The thread was entitled "Is This All There Is To SEO" and the reason I'm asking is to just check if there isn't something wrong with the UKBF forum system, and perhaps other threads have gone missing too.

Filtering through the thread I thought there were some informative posts in that thread and it would be a pity to lose it.

Rather than deleting the thread would it not be better to move it to the members area.

I thought that in those cases only the offending posts are deleted, and the thread is closed / locked down to prevent anyone else posting to the thread, so the thread with its useful posts remains for people to read.

Frequent changes to content means frequent visits by google.

Google scares me.

It's a shame that thread was deleted. Those types of threads are very beneficial to many people. Lots of good information gets shared.

I thought when threads are removed, everyone who contributed is supposed to get a PM explaining why

Just looking back, I think it was me that deleted it.

It became a slag fest flame war between a couple of members and as quickly as we could clean it up it started all over again. Infractions were issued and we tried to clean the thread up, but then got complaints that it hadn't been cleaned up fairly and was biased towards the other person.

So it was pulled. UI will say that anyone who has downloaded that thread might well have downloaded an incomplete version due to the moderating, and i would seriously advise anyone not to post that content on the forum, as it is got seriously heated in there and I wouldn't be surprised to see it completely blow up in the face of whoever posts it.

Unfortunately that is not possible for us Mods to do due to the amount of time and effort it will take. We delete many threads for many reasons. If the original poster queries the post deletion by PMing one of us Mods we would always give an answer with the reason why. The majority don't even notice.

Well the same has happened before (but unfounded accusations) as we know.

If you're not in the 'in-crowd' your right to defend yourself is deleted but utter rubbish is allowed to remain.

If I got out of the wrong side of bed it'd mean I would have to touch my wife. I try and avoid this for fear for my own safety
