They don't need to advertise so you won't find them in Yellow Pages or the local paper, nor even a website. The firms that advertise heavily often need to do so because they have so little repeat and referral business that they need a steady stream of new customers - maybe because of their poor service.
We have a "tame" decorator and a joiner - they have zero advertising nor marketing - not even a name on their vans. Neither have a website, they're not in Yellow Pages and the joiner is actually ex-directory. In fact, it's quite a pain when we need him because we have to dig out his last invoice to find his phone number. But they're both absolutely brilliant, not cheap, but they turn up as promised, tidy/clean up after themselves and do a good job.

You'd love Paddi Lund, "The Crazy Australian Dentist", who sacked most of his patients and started again offering a Rolls-Royce type service to the ones he liked. He now works half as hard and earns twice as much! See this.
