into web consultancy / project management.

By this I mean negotiating with clients about their requirements, what will work for them, what wont and most importantly, why!

Then also project management, including planning, construction and evaluating a whole web project.

Maybe working full time for someone else or finding a reliable development partner.

Like what i do now only more in depth and minus the design and programming!

Anyone know if theres much demand for this out there?

yes, but it is not a large market.

we do this already, so for some clients we act as consultants instead of supplier (for example if there might be a conflict of interest in being supplier - which happens occasionally), however it is not likely to be profitable unless dealing with large spend projects - when usually the client / web company will provide project management anyway.

a good web company will do this anyway, so a common question from the client might be - if you are so expert that you can do this, why are you not supplying the end result...

but yes, feasible

Why not grow your business by outsourcing the programming to India / other lower cost countries, then market your web solutions to the UK.

You can recruit freelancers offshore for a few dollars per hour, then your time would be more profitably employed marketing and project managing.

I am very very fussy about outsourcing, there are a lot of factors that work against it, i guess it's just a case of finding the right company.
