Ice Cream Van or Trike

Thinking about either one of these for next summer, anyone currently have one or know much info on them?

Wondering what profits would be like?

Is the van/trike expensive?

Supplier etc?

Any info or help would be much appreciated

I've someone on my business facebook that made an ice cream trike from scratch out of old bike parts so all it cost him is time.

I'd imagine ice cream is a very high profit industry with high demand in decent weather.

Cycle seems a no brainer along the sea front where pollution is a hot potato but my bet is the council will have sold their soul to the phoney Italian sounding ice cream vans and you'll never get a permit.

Cycle can go a small minority of places a van can't go but vans can go 1000s more places than a pedal bike.

Starting out I would like to do it properly with permits etc.

However what's the laws / regulations for something that's mobile and just on the street moving about when there is no fair/festival etc etc.

Also anyone have connections for suppliers of trike and products?

I think you need a peddler's licence from the local police station which means you don't need a street traders licence from the council.

Have a little think about this and if it isn't blindingly obvious, Google it.

Localisation of regulations renders it meaningless for me to talk about where I live. You need to approach the authorities in your area.
