OK I'm 17 years old from Leicestershire. I am in the process of starting up a Painting and Decorating business called DeCorio and just in the process of developing a service to sell to Educational Institutions. I am also the author of Dream Less Win More.

What do you do?

I'm more than old enough to be one of your parents, and am currently running my catering business as well as working for someone else. Over the years have had several businesses, ranging from leather clothing maker to ironing services to furniture doer-upper!
I admire you starting so young and knowing what you want to do, and really wish you much good luck with it. Just remember, Sir Alan Sugar went bankrupt TWICE before he got where he is today...

I have been trying to acquire funding and to be honest I gave up and sold one of my businesses.

Thanks I don't have a lot, but using savings i have about £2K to set up, started last week and sold a few things here and there but then i am not expecting miracles at the moment!

Once the reccession is over i am sure you will be back out there

Weirdly, in my early 40's, I've just started up for the 2nd time - last was in my 20's, and it feels like a new lease of life.

Ever wanted to know what you know now, but with the physical constitution of the young?!? That's how I feel! (for the first ten hours each day anyhow!)

After being a "wage slave" for 25+ years, I've finally got something I can believe in, and work for, without watching someone else blow the profits of the idea or the hard work on stupidity, arrogance, or greed...NICE!! (PS: my stupidity doesn't count at this point - before you start, it's called a "learning curve"!)

I've taken my credit control job independent (nice word there too - independent!). Early days, everything still firmly crossed!
