Always wondered,
those of you who drink tea and coffee..
do you get the same 'wake up' from the Tea..
How does it compare in terms of caffeine to coffee? (talking regular coffee not macchiato and espressos etc .. although would love to see an authorative league table)

The problem with tea, is that having tasted the most amazing tea in India, it is almost impossible to find anything close to being as delicious, where as good coffee is easy to come by.
Keith, sod Kent, move to India. Curry and tea! Surely your idea of heaven?
I'll have about 2 decaf coffee's a day. Caffeine causes all sorts of problems including increased levels of anxiety, people that are having too much coffee/tea should trying cutting back and seeing if they feel any different.![]()
I'm one of the those strange (and rare) people that cannot stand tea, I have probably had about 3 cups of tea in my 40 year life.
Depends on the how the day goes. I always need one in the morning just to get me going....
As a generalisation tea contains more caffeine than coffee. And the 'strong' coffee in terms of taste (ie french/italian roast), contain less caffeine than the milder blends.

Tea leaves do indeed have more caffeine in them than coffee beans.
However ...
A cup of tea contains a lot less caffeine than a cup of coffee.
I presume because the leaves are only dipped in the water where as the beans are ground up and consumed along with the water.
Saying that tea has magical properties that transcend the power of caffeine![]()
