help please! Setting up blogger with domain name

Hi

Can somebody please help me I am struggling to set up my blog with blogger.com and I have my own domain name.

I have bought my name with 1 and 1, few weeks ago and no problems with that.

When I am setting up my blogger account, do I go to the advanced set up? or not?

I have found the info in blogger about using 1 and 1 and changing the Cname part, but I am stuck at the very beginning of the process.

Any helpful pointers would be great.

Hi Louise,

If you want to host your blogger blog under your own domain name then yes, you'll need to use the advanced set up. For that you'll need to know the name of the ftp server for your hosting as well as your ftp username and password. Once you've got those, just plug them into the form and it's pretty straightforward.

Hi, thanks, now I am a complete novice, how and where do I find this bit out? (the ftp etc)

And what does FTP stand for?

FTP is File Transfer Protocol. It's how you get files onto your webhosting.

Your webhosting provider should be able to give you the info you need. Is your webhosting also with 1&1? I've found an FAQ about how to look up the details:
