    Hello all,

So i recently joined a gym. In the past I have gone budget, this time I have joined Bannatyne's which is a mid range gym.

I'm a web developer, always thinking with a business mind. Had some great conversations with people from different walks of life. One person is keen on hiring me to create a website for their business.

A marketing idea occurred to me and I wanted to get others opinions on it.

A printed t shirt which I wear to the gym:

"I build websites, talk to me"

    Crazy, clever? Let me know.

    Cheers

Can’t see any reason not to give it a try. Some of my best clients started out after a chat in the pub about something totally unrelated.

    Nothing new, but could work.

    Cheap to test!

Make the text appropriate to the target market, fellow keep fitters...
'Put some muscle into your website sales'
    'I build fit looking websites'
    'Raising the Bar'
'I build websites that work out'

With some decent graphics/fonts and half a dozen shirts you may pick up a customer or two....

Depends who you see as your target market. I often commission websites but your t-shirt idea gives me no idea of why I should talk to you ?

There's a difference between someone 'being keen' for you to build their website (do you have a signed contract? ) and them commissioning you.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Now that leads on nicely to the next question. Does anyone have any recommendations for tiny quantity (3) t shirt printing?
Your idea will only be as good as the amount you are prepared to invest in it. You don't want to be seen as the person who wears the same shirt all the time. Get one for each day of the week with a different slogan on each. Invest in some decent graphics.

Look for a DTF printer (Direct to Film) who prints onto AWD - JC001 Just Cool polyester T's. Perfect for gym wear and in a couple of dozen colours.

You can also buy transfer paper that goes through most printers.
