Leeds
I was wondering, what events there are in Leeds ? not so much interested in networking, more meeting up with other people who are running business and having a chat rather than the business card hard sale

I'm in Leeds as well, I live in Burley.

I've been to a few networking events in Leeds but most of the people there were employees from larger companies. It would be nice to meet more self-employed people in Leeds.

Have you looked at joining Yorkshire Mafia? They do lots of networking events, along with a very active forum on LinkedIn.

I've been to a few YM events and they are quite good and worth the time. I am in Leeds also, in Chapel Allerton.

There are some more relaxed networking groups where people are more of the mindset you are, rather than the BNI types. In Huddersfield, there is one at the Media Centre, but not sure about Leeds.

Maybe check out the Chamber of Commerce for a more comprehensive list in your local area.

I'm also in Leeds and looking for networking events and gatherings. Not looking for sales pitch hour in an expensive restaurant, more a morning coffee and a friendly chat to hear ideas and thoughts from people running and starting their own brands.

David Powell (Mr Overheads) from Auditel Leeds does a round robin email with every local networking event on it and their meeting times.

If you email him he adds you to the list:

david.powell at auditel.co.uk

if anyone wants it forwarding drop me a pm and i'll email it on.

Have you looked at the Yorkshire Enterprise network. They have a linkedin group as well as free membership on their website. They hold free informal networking events which always have a really good turn out and some free drinks which is always a bonus at these events.
