Hello,
I am looking into EPOS systems for a small tearoom that currently has 1 basic till and an izettle card payments machine connected to an app. Orders are taking using good old fashion pen and carbonated pads.

If you have a simular business,
What system do you use?
Do you pay a one of fee for the hardware and is the software a monthly fee?
Any feedback or tips to look for when shopping around?
Is it helpful for doing your books and or do you produce reports for vat returns etc?

Thank you

Hi,

PROS of using Zettle:

- No monthly fees
- No contract
- Connects with Xero & Quickbooks
- Zettle Go EPOS is free
Great for businesses sub £3,000 card turnover per month, seasonal or fast service.

CONS

- High card rate
- Limited EPOS functionality
- Can’t take payments over the phone

If you are doing more than £3,000 per month you’ll be able to offset high % against monthly cost of terminal and EPOS.

My business www.PayDough.me isn’t owned or controlled by a bank / card processor. I work with Zettle and a number of other EPOS systems.

Happy to chat through in more detail.

There are two izettle apps, izettle Pro and izettle go. Izettle Pro has a fixed cost and different pricing structure. At certain volumes izettle Pro is cheaper than izettle go.

The main reason why you'd want izettle Pro is its designed for restaurant, so you can tot up the bill and print a bill to the customer and they can choose to pay cash or card.

I wouldn't say izettle go is an epos. But izettle Pro is.

I don't have direct experience with them, I know this because I've supplied izettle systems on hire to clients in hospitality.

You can make it into a full featured epos system by attaching a printer, have the printer xlconnect to cash till etc. To remotely open the cash till.

Izettle Pro also has password lock feature on the app and a password for refunds and other things.

Zettle Go is an EPOS, they don’t update pro anymore.

I can get discount and freebies from zettle being an authorised re-seller. I can also build their EPOS via the go app.

Sign up here and drop me a message and my time is free to you: https://register.zettle.com/gb/?cam...ler&utm_campaign=CIP_uk_referral&utm_term=346

    Thanks

    Thanks for the correction

It's been a while since I was pulled in by a customer to problem solve for them. We had an event at a flower show, a restaurant did a pop up catering thing there.

iZettle go was quite a bit different back then and didn't have the features for food and hospitality, no tipping or bill printing facility back then. I can see that they've basically brought a lot of the izettle pro features into go to make it suitable for restaurants.
