Hello everybody,

How many of you are looking to implement a secure electronic signature strategy within your firms to replace signing of paper documentation?

An electronic solution is environmentally friendly, saves time and money. Documents are easily retrievable when required.

There are still many firms drowning in their paperwork...
A lot less than you think. Al least here in the UK.

A high proportion of businesses use technology to mange their documentation. I can't remember the last time I actually had to sign a piece of paper.

As a business I signed one in 2014.
A piece of paper.
Personally it's got to be years prior to that.

Signing paper has to be up there with the chequebook and car phone as old stuff no longer used.

They are actually not environmental friendly at all, similar discussing we had on here paperless offices. The actual energy requirements for digital data in general is much higher.

I agree using digital signatures is very convenient way for low priority documents but as with real signatures they can be faked and tampered with.

All in I prefer having a contract on paper with terms attached in my office than a digital document. I found misplacing digital documents far easier than paper ones.

Good point. The energy/resource cost of creating paper is a one time charge. After that it just sits in a file cabinet. Computer servers burn power constantly for years.
