In recent months, I’ve been quietly working on a new venture in the health & safety/compliance space aimed squarely at small and medium businesses.
This service combines hands-on consultancy with online, editable templates, giving businesses both guidance and ready-to-use documentation. Your insights could help refine the model before launch.
Below is how I’m positioning it (brand name withheld for now).
In short, I want to turn the ambiguity and burden of safety compliance into clarity, trust, and a daily habit for businesses that can’t afford a full in‑house HSE department.
Questions for UKBF:
I’m hoping to get honest feedback from business owners, safety officers, and consultants.
Anything that seems unrealistic, missing, or overpriced ~ I want to hear it.
Thank you in advance for your support and help.

I’d really like your thoughts, critiques, and ideas.
Below is how I’m positioning it (brand name withheld for now).
Vision
To empower self-employed trades and small businesses in manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and light industrial sectors to adopt safety, health, and environmental practices that are not just legally compliant, but practical, visual, and genuinely embraced by their teams.
My Mission
- Simplify health & safety so it’s usable, not just “compliance paperwork.”
- Provide both in-person consultancy and online templates, so businesses can choose the level of support that works for them
- Make safety visible - it's a bit like food, if it looks good, people will eat it, if it doesn't, you are instantly put off
- Be the outsourced “safety compass” for growing businesses, handling audits, documentation, training, incident support, and continuous improvement.
- Deliver value without breaking the bank: accessible, transparent, flexible models, rather than high‑cost “big consultancy” packages.
In short, I want to turn the ambiguity and burden of safety compliance into clarity, trust, and a daily habit for businesses that can’t afford a full in‑house HSE department.
Core Services (for now!)
- In-Person Consultancy = on-site audits, risk assessments, staff training, signage rollout, and ongoing support.
- Online Templates & Documentation = editable risk assessments, method statements, policies, RAMS, checklists, and guides, ready-to-use and easy to update.
- Compliance Support & Advice = ongoing remote support, legislative updates, and incident guidance.
- Signage and design = safety should be visible and personal to every business - study shows a business logo on a safety sign helps improve the safety culture of a workplace

Strengths, Weaknesses & Feedback Request
Strengths:- Combines on-site support with ready-to-use online templates
- Tailored for each business - practical, visual, and actionable
- Avoids the high overheads of traditional consultancies or employment of an H&S Officer/Manager
- Pricing perception is this too high or too low for SMEs
- Convincing SMEs to move from reactive compliance to proactive safety culture
- Marketing the business as a new startup
Questions for UKBF:
- Would your business pay for this combination of in-person support + online templates?
- Which package feels most realistic and valuable for a business of 10 - 50 employees?
- Would you prefer a retainer model, fixed packages, or a mix?
- What would make a safety consultancy stand out enough for you to pay more?
- How important are visuals, signage, and behaviour cues compared to purely legal compliance documents?
I’m hoping to get honest feedback from business owners, safety officers, and consultants.
Anything that seems unrealistic, missing, or overpriced ~ I want to hear it.
Thank you in advance for your support and help.
