I am based on Dorset too, in Bournemouth. I've recently developed a website I'm actually looking to receive some feedback on, and gain interest from any companies in Dorset. The website is being promoted as the interactive guide to Dorset and can be found by typing Dorset Outdoors into Google, as it is the first listed.

Thanks
Vicky

@Vicky: Really like the site, seems nicely established with a good amount of companies involved already. Found it easy to navigate around, and found the companies I wanted to find in the right places. I take it this is a new site? Curious into whether the companies are requesting videos on there, or whether these videos you have added on your own accord? I am based in Bournemouth and provide promotional videos in the local area. So if you need any videos PM me and we can discuss further. Would love to get involved, seems like a great site.

Hi,

Thanks for your comments, I'm glad you like the website. Those are just videos that I uploaded myself. I am currently actually looking for some assistance with the website and am looking for investment or to form a partnership in exchange for exposure and profit.
Thanks
Vicky

Wareham here! Do I win a prize for being the first?:D

That little Italian Restaurant still there? The one with the owner that seems to remember your name and what you were talking about two years ago, despite being packed every night?

I think they moived onto the key, it did lose the intimacy of the old place, but the food was always good.

Well done vicky it looks good.

The only constructive thoughts I can come up with is that I found it a bit light on content and all ads if that makes sense? So it seemed a bit like the advertiser where theres nothing interesting to read in it.

I wonder if it might be an idea to either write some content like reports on events in the area or get some of your advertisers to do something. This way it may get to be a bit more of a magazine type site that people keep coming back to.

To be perfectly honest from a business perspective you will get more calls as the drab Wareham IT support than Funky mouse, and from a home user perspective how will they know what funky mouse do, with a name like that it could be a pet shop or a place selling "smoking accessories"!!

What skills do you need?

How the hell did i not manage to say what i was actually looking for? :|

Nevermind - right, i need someone that is good at working with wood, building simple dislay units etc. They would need their own workshop space/garage. A van to deliver would be helpful, but not essential, as i can arrange good agreements with couriers.

Its a niche market i want to target, and i feel my marketing skills and knowledge of the target market would help us to break into the market.

The website you have looks very good at first glance. Where in dorset are you based as i dont recognise the area code. One other thing, why use a gmail address for the contact on the website as it looks "dodgy" and less professional than a domain-related contact address :)

Area code Oxford nowhere near Dorset a bit sus

Blandford Forum here but from Liverpool. met my wife many years ago whilst in the Army here and after i left we moved back down to dorset and yes its a fantastic part of the country to live.

I run a small business selling Electronic Cigarettes online and i also cover local markets and Car boots selling them. Once the public know how good these are and how much they can help they soon purchase them.

any way thats me in lovley Dorset

PURPLE BUBBLE

Hi all and all! I am Hannah Chesterfield, 26 and based in Bridport, Dorset. I have just started up as a self employed copywriter PURPLE BUBBLE WRITING (website currently being finished off)

As the thread title suggests I am a Devonshire maid really (good old Axminster!!) and I previously worked for a website design company Vector 7 Ltd, Honiton, Devon. I was the assistant editor there working on clients websites, our site and working on the online magazines we ran (Service guides-linked to Bradleys Estate Agents for Devon/Cornwall and Somerset (Plumbers/Builders/Florists/Removals...allsorts really).

I loved it and wish I had stayed there- my sister now does my old job! Only left due to personal circumstances....I am up together on SEO, in regards to online work and targeting specific audiences to help towards high rankings on the search engines...locally we managed to get many, many clients scoring on the first pages of Google for their trade and area so must have been doing something correct!

I recently graduated from the OU after six years of studying part time while working full time and achieved 83% which with the OU equates to a 2.1! (BA (Hons) in English language and literature)

So, that's my bit done. I am currently undertaking FOC copywriting/article writing/blogs etc so I can build up more portfolio.

If anyone is interested in me rewriting/rejigging your website? Or maybe looking at content and make suggestions/rewrite/refresh/write articles/content for blogs or for up and coming events? Either way - it's free and you don't even have to use it. Sometimes a fresh perspective can give your material a fresh outlook.

Thanks in advance,

Hannah Chesterfield x :) x
