China based inspection agent

In the past I have twice taken a punt on importing metal assemblies from two different suppliers in China. Whilst the items were dimensionally close to the specification it turned out that the items had certain deficiencies arising from the manufacturing process . The shortcoming were not terminal and so we were able to move them on - but at a reduced margin.

We are looking to import once again, provided we can have someone locally carry out inspection and test procedures at the supplier.

Can anyone suggest an agency in China which can carry out such work. Going back 30 years when my employer was exporting our consignments were inspected by other CFAS of SGS and they were very nit-picking and thorough. I dont propose using them in this case but a local agent with manufacturing and inspection experience might be more appropriate.

The travel cost will not be cost effective for you to use us, I'll see if I can recommend an inspection company in that area.

We use a couple of factories in Xiamen, and when we started out, had inspections undertaken by Asia Inspection, now known as QIMA.

Had no issues at all and they were cost effective.
