From reading the recent BNI post and matrixx's comments about someone going on his behalf. I wonder.....can I hire a professional networker?

Ideally it would be someone who networks on behalf of more than one comapny and is paid on results.

Do such people exist?

i was also thinking about this earlier this week. because we promote services from other people by recommending them to our clients etc i thought this might be an idea

the obstacle i was facing was how to charge for it. because networking by nature is not a short term gain it was knowing how to quantify the work we had done. When we use our recommended supplier list the scenario is slightly different. Our clients needs something and we say "use these people they are a recommended supplier" but networking is a different medium entirely. you are telling someone about a service they may need at some distant point

if anyone has any further input i would be happy to discuss some ideas on adding a service that forum users could find useful

Wasn't there someone who introduced himself on here recently? His post said something along the lines of 'Get in touch cos I like to help people out and put them in touch with others'. I looked at his site and he is basically a professional networker and you pay for his services.

May be being a little premature as it may be in operation, but I have been wondering why there isn't a Business Directory attached to this network [and beyond].
I am sure that a suitable host could be found from the members.

How would this work? If you network a service at an event and then say another service at another event maybe someone would recognise you and ask who exactly do you network for?

Would you network for competing services or would you take the highest payer of competing services.

I think networking is a personal thing because you know who you want to network to.

"Connecting People with Pain to People with Solutions"
this is the professional networker who recently put a post in the Introductions section. The above is the title of his post.

I know to different type of professional networkers.

One that help with they experience and expertise to get your in the right direction in networking. Still you do networking yourself.

The others do network itself and introduce you to the people that require your services or products and get paid if you sign contract.

Probably there are some people who do networking on somebody behalf, promoting service or product, but I personaly never meet them.

This service does exist because we have done it before.

Most of our telesales people will migrate to field sales and hence we see this as part of thier training.

We have sent several to BNS (not BNI) events and various other industry specific events and have had some very interesting results.

We have also been asked to send people to exhibitions and get leads from attendees and companies who have stands. This is harder but will work for the right company.
