Hi,

I am looking for business management / accounting software. I currently use Quickbooks desktop and despite a few bugs it has always worked well for me but it has now been discontinued so I am looking at alternative options. Quickbooks online is not an option as I rely heavily on sales orders and Quickbooks online does not support sales orders.

The business is mostly retail with a small amount of trade wholesale. Some import / export.

The main things I am looking for from the software is.......

Stock Management / Pricing
Multi Currency (I import and work with USD / EURO etc)
Purchase orders
Sales orders
Website integration for products / stock / pricing sync
Customer invoicing
General accounts with good reporting and the option to create custom reports
File VAT return / MTD
Links to bank account

There is probably more but those are the main things I need. I have looked at Xero / QB online and some others but they all seem to be missing sales orders. SAGE 50 accounts cloud professional looks like it might do the job but at £145 a month plus VAT its over double what QB desktop has been costing so I hoped to find a solution a bit more friendly on the budget!

Does anyone here have any suggestions?

Quickbooks have a workaround using Sales Estimates.
I did see this but from what I can tell using the estimate workaround doesnt affect stock qty on hand. I would prefer something with a proper sales order feature so it tells me what stock is available and what it currently reserved for customers etc. With supplier production delays at the moment some customer orders can take anything up to about 4 months to come from the supplier so having accurate sales orders is very important for me to keep back orders organised.

Not aware of all that for the budget you are on. We use DEAR inventory for one of our businesses which delivers all of that amazingly well, basic package is 250 dollars a month, 300 dollars a month you get the automation upgrade which we have which is a great feature, lots of reports and other tasks can be run without any manual input. We integrate it with Xero so I guess you would have to add the Xero cost on too. You can pretty much do most things in either Xero or DEAR but our accountants like interfacing with Xero.

Hi, does your accountant have a preference on what software you use? Sometimes they want the accounts present in a certain format. Can I ask a bit about your business? Is it online retail or a shop? Might make a difference as to what would be the best fit for your company.

As above well worth checking with your accountant if they have a preference chances are you may get it discounted
