hey,

i was wondering if anyone could help me with an insurance related question, possibly product and maybe public liability for dietary supplement sellers.

All the products are from various big name manufacturers, so not bespoke, made inhouse or anything like that, i can't really get a consistent answer from either the manufacturers of these products or some of the insurance companies, some people are telling me that as a retailer you would be covered by the manufacturer of these supplements insurance, however id like to obviously know for sure before i begin any planning.

Any help is appreciated.
Cheers

The manufacturer's policy will cover them not you. In practice what tend to happen is that if a product liability claim is made against the retailer it is passed onto the manufacturer, and the premiums charged for retailers' insurance reflect this. Where you can have problems is if there are hold harmless agreements or other contractual terms in place which restrict the liability of your supplier
