Book Keeping work from home

I am currently attending college doing my AAT Level 2 in Accountancy, I was wondering if there is any companies that employ home based book keepers or would I be best setting up on my own.

Hi,
I started my bookkeeping business last year and decided to be home basedas it would keep the costs down and hopefully make me more competative.
However it has been difficult to find clients although i think that this may depend on which area of the country you are in.

Thanks I can imagine it is difficult at first did you do much in the way of advertising ?

I have tried everything with not much success all of my work has come from word of mouth.I have spent a small fortune with no results
it is difficult but i think the best thing to do is try to get your name out as much as possible and try to use as much free advertising as you can such as notice boards etc

No, the whole thing about you wanting work is that you go out and find it, ie you find me ... not me do the favour - initiative is a wonderful thing

Just wondered if you can give me more details on your home based book keepers please.What conditions are attached to being part of your network, and is there support etc? I'm AAT level 4 qualified and have been working as a book keeper for a company in North Yorkshire for the last 4 years, but have been thinking about setting up my own business based at home.
