What is the cheapest way of setting up and running a blog?

Mike,

If you're looking to install a package on your server, take a look at www.opensourcecms.com - there's a list of around 15 or so blog packages on the left which you can install and style up.

If you're looking for a blog hosted elsewhere look at something like www.blogger.com

I would recommend Wordpress. It is what I use.

It took about 5-10 minutes to install, has many different add-ons. Plus is free.

I've used blogger in the past. Very easy to use, simple to style. Gives you your own sub domain of their website.

I was told at lunch today, that google is going to stop searching through blogs, and it will render them useless as a marketing tool .... had anyone else heard this or is it scare mongering??
