I have always arranged the best quality products (more expensive) at the top of the column of products on a page going down to the economy ranges and bargain packs at the bottom. I make more on the good quality against the run of the mill stuff that every man and his dog has to sell so I want the punter to buy those and see them first.

However, I've been thinking that perhaps I'm chasing away a person who sees the top item and feels that they are too expensive - moves on without realising there are cheaper commodities below.

How would you arrange a page? - Cheap at the top or best at the top and why?

How many produce on the page?

I would have a couple featured products on the top, but, with the option to sort by price, spec, best seller etc.

Also, why not look at other sites to see what they do,

Hi Clod,

Long time no chat due to the demise of Erol. I see you've managed to survive and move on.....

As the previous poster suggested, I'd put them in best selling order with maybe some highlighted products at the top and then allow the user to sort by price etc if required. This way you highlight what you want them to buy but maybe mix in some slightly cheaper products so you don't look like you just want people to buy the most expensive.
