Are you a Christian?

DCE has insulted everyone in this thread from the beginning of his involvement with it.

Sorry, I don't have anything I can copy and paste to show this, you'll just have to take my word for it.

Sorry, I don't have anything I can copy and paste to show this, you'll just have to take my word for it.

Really I don't think so, all I have done is quoted God's word of truth from the Bible, if that is insulting, then your issue is with God I'm afraid.

(Isaiah 48:17-18) 17*This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: "I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to benefit [yourself], the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk. 18*O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

It's really beneficial to listen to God's word, would you say that was insulting or, showing kindness and love, to they person that it is being directed to?

I never said what you consider to be God's word was insulting, I'm saying that you're insulting us with the way you act in this thread.

Please don't insult us again by just insisting quoting scripture is all your doing, because your doing much more than that, and being extremely negative. You need to stop hiding behind scripture and engage the discussion, otherwise go away, because your making a mockery of this subject.

The motive behind his questioning is what is insulting, and using discernment which a spiritual man, uses all the time.

Beachcomber is a person that tries to be an intimater.

For instance he uses phrases like "Why not free yourself of the shackles of superstition and open your mind to the whole truth, the whole world, the whole universe - rather than your shaded, blinkererd, indoctrinated view? You are limiting your own existence just as a heroin addict limits theirs, why not take a leap of faith - that faith being in yourself rather than an emotional and psycological crutch of a religion?"

In other words he is a professional apostate a man to be watched very closely my friend.

He thinks that is his strength, but it's actually a huge weakness of his.

He has not got a clue, what the real truth is that is very apparent.

Talk about being sanctimonious.

The question that Beachy asked in this case was hardly an insult.

He asked you a question, you answered as to which he asked quite rightly... Here... let me remind you.

DCE said:
Not in a Christians eyes my friend, it's when we are face to face, questions become and are important, not answering questions to someone on the net, that is a very dangerous my friend.

I'm sure you understand.

Yes?
beachy said:
So you can only ever really discuss things in a meaningful way when face to face?

well a) why then post so much online? and b) does that mean you talk face to face with god? I mean, actually face to face - as the 'I know he's here' thinking is less tangible than discussing online. Assuming an entity is there is not face to face.

When will you understand these silly diversion tactics don't work?

(as of which you only quoted the following, meaning that you were only prepared to answer the following question, thus removing any form of motivational insult, thus not being able to insult you in anyway whatsoever)

DCE said:

Yes that is correct.

That's the Christian way.

And then the simple question was...

Beachy said:
Then why are you here?

As I stated, you seriously have issues if you are taking any of the above conversation as an insult

Quoting Scripture is not being negative, as this thread is called "Are you a Christian" so that is what a Christian does, like it or not.

Your whole premise is to devalue, what is being said, by your worldly wisdom which has only death at the end of it.

The wonderful thing, is God's word, turns all things into a positive even, death itself.

(Acts 24:15) I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

When you have written anything, that's a negative, as it gives nothing positive or up-building out, what so ever.

People trying to belittle our Christians fauth is something, we get used to, but we will not stop telling people, the Good News contained in the scriptures, as God's word is truth.

(John 17:17) 17 Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth

That's the blessing of being a spiritual man, we see what is behind the motive, in other words the true meaning what is being said, that is something you seem to be unable to see, by your comments.

It is the overall context of what is being said by Beachcomber, that is insulting, maybe one day you will understand.

Have a good day.

Remember when I said on the other post about people like you talking down to people... Once again, you have proven my point as to why I personally can't stand religious nuts like you.

You earn respect, you don't just get it given to you willy-nilly, if you want people to respect your beliefs, then quit talking to people like your above them. It's pathetic.

That's the problem, it's what you think, is the overriding factor, not that we Christians think, that they don't think thay are above everyone else, you couldn't be further from the truth.

We are different in away, that we model ourselves on Jesus Christ who was the meekest of men, and showed loving concern for everyone he met, and they didn't like what he was saying either, the hated him enough, that they put him to death, although innocent of all charges, he was accused of.

(1 Peter 2:21, 22) 21*In fact, to this [course] YOU were called, because even Christ suffered for YOU, leaving YOU a model for YOU to follow his steps closely. 22*He committed no sin, nor was deception found in his mouth.

So I think you have the issue toward anyone following a Christian course, if the truth being known, the problem is with you my friend.

A Christian must act this way.

(Philippians 2:2-4) 3*doing nothing out of contentiousness or out of egotism, but with lowliness of mind considering that the others are superior to YOU

A Christian "must" act this way? Don't talk utter codswallop! You don't have to act the way you do, you choose too!

Once again though you are assuming that you know me, and quit calling me "friend" you don't know me personally, you don't know how I think, who I am or what I am.

I personally take it as an insult that you think you know me and are better than me.

Simple fact of the matter is, I like you claim to have done, have studied Christianity and have studied Paganism, I've also read the Torah, and attempted to read the Qu'ran.

Everything but Paganism states follow me or else.

As far as I'm concerned JW is far from being Christian. I was Christened when I was 9 years old, not by choice I had to be. My Mam & Dad treated every single child that came through their doors the exact same, albeit probably more strict than other parents (at the time), but they would have moved heaven and earth to protect any one of us... and there were many... over 500 kids in 40 years passed through my Mam & Dad's doors... it is a fact that My Mam has probably saved at least 200 kids lives, just by being there, and giving them the protection and "love" that they needed, including giving blood to one child who was so sick that she very nearly died the day that my Mam had her brought around from the foster home.

So don't talk to me like your above me, you're nothing as far as my Mam & dad are concerned.

Christian my a**

I can tell what sort of person you are, by what you say, and how you say it, because out of the heart the month speaks, so I get where you are coming from.

Yes we act the way we do, because we choose to be guided by God's holy spirit, which the fruitage of the spirit is, love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-24)

As far as the blood issue is concerned, it's a pity you don't fully understand why we don't have transfusions, but answer the question below.

Do you love your wife enough that you would be willing to risk your life for her?

There are also men who risk their lives for their country and die, and they are viewed as heroes, aren't they?

But there is someone who is greater than any person or thing here on earth, and that is God.

Would you risk your life because of love for him and loyalty to his rulership?'

The issue here really is loyalty to God.

It is God's Word that tells us to abstain from blood, but we but we do allow our children to have transfusions-the safer kind.

We accept the kind of transfusions that don't carry the risk of such things as AIDS, hepatitis, and malaria.

We want the best treatment for our children, as I am sure that any loving parent would.

When there is severe blood loss, the greatest need is to restore the fluid volume.

No doubt you realize that our blood is actually over 50 percent water; then there are the red and white cells, and so forth.

When much blood is lost, the body itself pours large reserves of blood cells into the system and speeds up production of new ones.

But fluid volume is needed.

Plasma volume expanders that contain no blood can be used to fill that need, and we accept these plasma volume expanders have been used on thousands of persons, with excellent results.'

A person may be told: 'Either you accept a blood transfusion or you will die.'

Jehovah's Witnesses often run into such reasoning because of their Bible-based decision to 'abstain from blood' in any form. (Acts 15:29)

The weakness of this line of reasoning?

It excludes other valid possibilities.

The facts show that there are alternative treatments, and most operations can be performed successfully without blood.

Skilled doctors often operate with a minimal loss of blood.

Another possibility is the use of nonblood fluids, plasma volume expanders.

Furthermore, many have taken blood transfusions and died.

By the same token, many have refused blood and lived.

The hole in the either/or reasoning is thus a gaping one.

Judging others by your standards, and not God's, is what you are doing, which is your freedom to do so, but I'm doing my best to live by God's standards and being loyal to him, as mine and my families future hope for everlasting life depends on it, so you may not like me as your friend, but I would view God as the best friend we could ever have.

Why don't you get to know him, instead of looking for other spirits?

Don't lie then, you said that you must act this way, when in reality you don't have to act like a know it all or belittle people because they're not like you.

As far as the blood issue is concerned, it's a pity you don't fully understand why we don't have transfusions, but answer the question below.

Once again assuming.

Do you love your wife enough that you would be willing to risk your life for her?

I maybe married, but I'm also seperated, so your assumption that I would risk my life for her is futile.

There are also men who risk their lives for their country and die, and they are viewed as heroes, aren’t they?

Totally irrelevant, they choose to risk their lives for their country, this statement has nothing to do with anything whatsoever.

But there is someone who is greater than any person or thing here on earth, and that is God.

Would you risk your life because of love for him and loyalty to his rulership?’

The issue here really is loyalty to God.

Again, totally irrelevant, as you already know I do not believe in any god, therefore there is no answer to the question.

It is God’s Word that tells us to abstain from blood, but we but we do allow our children to have transfusions—the safer kind.

We accept the kind of transfusions that don’t carry the risk of such things as AIDS, hepatitis, and malaria.

The plasma that is used for blood transfusions doesn't carry any of the above, that is once again your JW beliefs.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the flying spaghetti monster, but hey... I don't go telling you what to do in your life, or whom you should follow... but then again, as I've stated before I respect people's beliefs and leave it at that... you on the other hand are unable to do so.

Why don't you get to know him, instead of looking for other spirits?

Why don't you stop typing and assuming you know everything?

DCE, again I must remind you of my reasons for questioning you.

You are a persion who repeatedly claims to have the answers, a special understanding and a deep knowledge of your religion.

All I do is pose questions to see if your dogma has the answers.

Afterall, if someone devotes their lives to following a belief system that falls to peices upon the posing of a few questions then I find that fascinating.

So, I like to ask questions to see how 'real' your beliefs are. Unfortunately the collective who post as DCE fail continually fail time and time again.

There is nothing I can think of that I would hate more, than the possibility of living forever.
Luckily though, that possibility is only the stuff of science fiction and the minds of religious people. Although current work with the flat worm might see us living a lot longer!

Prove it and you might make me think twice. As it is, i'm more inclined to believe we die and decay. Plus, some members of my family really get on my tits.

Yes we do decay when we die, but God, who has our DNA in his data base, in his memory, can reproduce us any time he wants to, just as he created the first man Adam.

(John 5:28-29) 28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.

That will be those in God's memory on the earth.

Marvellous hope Yes?

Is his database in Access or SQL? Because Access is not very safe and most people recommend upgrading, nowadays. I myself am nervous using databases because one slip can cause awful problems. I imagine this is what happened in God's database to give us David Cameron.

What about backup solutions? Large databases are all very well and good but if heaven gets a powercut, then what? I don't want to roll back to a version of myself that's four years old, and I don't think you do either.

God's database is perfect, not a problem there, but the Bible says in the new system, we will be brought back to perfection, which was God's original purpose, for mankind, but Adam blew it for us because of disobedience, if he hadn't he would have still been around today.

How old do think Adam would have been today had he not died?

A database that old though, might have been on tapes. Degradation is a problem then. Adam or Eve might come back zombie-like, missing arms. The horror.

Because of the seriousness of what Adam did, which affected the whole of the human race which brought death to all.

He was also perfect at the time he did it.

How could he be perfect, and do what he did? Could he have repented? Could his god have forgiven him?

I thought the "fall" of Adam and Eve meant everyone was mortal. So Adam was the same as us regular people. If we can go to heaven, why can't he?

He didn't repent, that was the problem, he continued his course of disobedience, and became independent of God, and sold us into sin, which means to miss the mark of perfection, in his case perfect obedience to his creator.

............which means to miss the mark of perfection, in his case perfect obedience to his creator.

So perfection is total obedience to an unseen and totally imaginary entity, the nature of which is decyphered from a single book written hundereds of years after the fact and re-writted / edited / added to over the centuries, ignoring all other similar and just as plauseable works on the basis that the book says it's the only truth and thats all you need to know.

There really isn't a way to say it that doesn't sound silly is there?

Forgiveness was never an option in this case.

As perfect humans, Adam and Eve made a deliberate choice to reject Jehovah's sovereignty and to accept the guidance of Satan instead.

Not surprisingly, there was no sign of repentance on the part of the rebels.

How do you know that forgiveness was never an option? If forgiveness is not an option, then their god is not all powerful? Otherwise he could forgive them? How do you know, they did not repent? You say they made a deliberate choice to accept the guidance of Satan - well many people livee nasty lives, and yet forgiveness and repentence is still a possibility they are told. This can be right to the moment of death. So how do you know that Adam and Eve did not repent, and were not forgiven?

He knows because he is DCE ...

Well this is what I'm trying to understand. DCE said Adam and Eve are not coming back. I want to understand how DCE knows this. I have always been told that the christian god - we are talking about the christian god here, as there are many gods - is a god of forgiveness, and if someone repents, even on their death bed, and are sincere, then all will be forgiven. So it seems to me it is possible that Adam and Eve repented, and their god forgave them. So I want to know how DCE knows this did not happen.
