I stopped watching it after the 2nd series. Just didn't enjoy it anymore. I get a feeling allot of the contestants are after more than just a job by Sugar - perhaps to be recognised and make a tv career out of it. A bit like big brother? I just haven't been able to stand the contestants for the last 4 shows ( i think this is series 7) who have, in the main, come across as either a) Moronic b) clueless c) big headed d) argumentative or e) jack asses.

Even though I am no real fan of Dragon' Den to be honest, it is still streets ahead than the Apprentice, which really is scraping the barrel as entertainment.

We are talking about Alan Sugar who is not the best of role models for anyone contemplating going into business and as a manager he is a clueless moron as far as people development and man management skills go.

As for the contestants, I wouldn't trust them with a cleaner's job to be honest. Isn't it ironic that the ones with the biggest gobs and wearing the most expensive clothes seem to falter rapidly when the chips are down. If they spent less time crowing about how "wonderful" they and less time preening themselves, then they may stand a TINY chance of making a business decision that actually works

Not that I watch it of course :D

Give it up for, Stuart Baggs, oops, errr I mean 'the brand' to give him his favourite moniker!

Love it, dont take it too seriously, laugh at the egos taking a hammering especially all the self-appointed 'super salespeople' who never really sell that much.

Added bonus as well this series, top totty in the form of Liz, boootiful!

Can someone explain how one of the contestants can be an "Unemployed Head of Communications"?

Surely he is one or the other, either "Unemployed" or "Head of Communications"!!

i cant see any of the guys winning, they just looked like a complete shambles all "gonna do this" or "gonna do that" and in the end didn't really do much.

That guy who got fired as the project manager, he annoyed me, he said im just gonna shout out the orders and you guys will do, for me a project manager should know every aspect of the job, if im a web design project manager i need to know how to build websites, what scripts to use and why, so when they showed them how to make sausages i think he should of been a lot more aware and knew inside out what each one should of been doing.

I think Jamie will go pretty far (although prob now likely to be booted off next week). He seems switched on and not afraid to confront and criticise other but in a non-agressive way. Think he gained a huge amount of respect from Brady with the way he tried to tame 'the brand'.

As for the shot of Liz getting her lips around that Sausage, pure editting genius!!! Even the wife laughed in appreciation of the cheap innuendo.

Glad it wasn't just me... I've been ranting about that all this morning and everytime they showed the banner at the bottom during the program!

Well, what can I say! I think the right one was booted off. There was nothing he had to give to any task, or team. His mannerisms were completely controlling, and he thought himself above everyone else.

Apart from the obvious part such as saying 'he would lead, and they would do the work' did you notice, that when everyone else was sat outside waiting - he would be stood in the corner away from them straightening his cuffs - march forward and be the first in....then hold his seat waiting for everyone to sit, look around at them and check all was in order, before he did....very controlling...think there are some issues up there. Always setting himself aside from everyone as though he was different and special. I did also like the mway his excuse for not doing any work in the task was telling Lord Alan 'I have all these youngsters to train' rofl!

Pull your head out from your backside Dan, and take a look about. You need to learn to manage people and not bully them - then they will give you more for nothing!

I think if he watches it objectively - he may realsie why he has been such a business failure in his life, and correct it now before he loses another 2.5 million!

'The brand' as he calls himself just needs to shut up and listen occasionally! I do love the early ones when they are so full of themsleves, makes me laugh with all the stuff they come out with.

The guys were so pathetic, jumping over each other to be noticed so my bet is on one of the girls winning. You're right Rainbow, the best ones are the early ones when it's just Egos and Cliches! Funny though! "Everything I touch turns to sold!"

Same. I watched it last night but it's just a pantomime like X Factor. Doubt I'll watch the rest.

Liz has already won for me. :D

I wonder how many people who bought their sausages would come back for repeat orders? That's the true indication of a good business. In fact, would the BBC be allowed to sell food without the necessary hygiene certificates, inspections, training, EU compliant testing and packaging, street trading licences etc etc? I was looking at bangers in Tesco today, even their posh stuff was no more than £3 to £4, a lot less than they were asking for their rubbish. I suspect it's nothing more than a BBC comedy drama and that the Apprentices could not compete in the real world.

Watched it. I thought the girls were far better and i was pleased they won, as for the blokes i think they came from planet prat.Would anyone seriously take any lip from the guy who was project leader,he was lucky no one shoved a sausage where the sun don't shine.

If you enjoy a flutter now and again, don't put your money on some wheezing old nag running at Kempton Park, or betting on Chipping Sodbury winning the football World Cup, get down the bookies and put your shirt on the gobbiest one in the first episode of the apprentice and be sure to win some decent money because they are always the first out :D

I think it's obvious now they don't pick people with genuine flair so much as they do for looks and personality. It's a pointless exercise in terms of business and I think the teenagers proved that when their series aired because they actually did as good and better (in terms of gross profits) than the adults ever had. Says it all really when kids can do what these so called pros can do.

That is because kids talk less bull, are less self interested and are open to working as a team with new ideas. Adults seem to be more about making their own image or mark than progressing with a task. I quite liked the kids ones!

A very silly programme trying to pretend it's serious. X factor has to be much better entertainment.

So to your question, who wins? The programme producers I guess...:)

Why is it the all women teams always seem to win the challenges or is that me with my blinkers on?

It's light entertainment, which lacks the fun of X Factor and the business edge (albeit increasingly diluted) of Dragon's den.

A few things that occur to me:

LordAlan claims that he is looking for risk-takers, but the winning team is based on short-term profits - hardly an opportunity for risks unless you go out and steal your stock..

Having been in business for 20 years - and dealt with all types of business - I have NEVER met anyone who exibited the sociopathic traits of these contestants.

Mind you., it is an absolute gift for TV critics half a page of piss-taking haded on a plate.

I have always favoured the 'You're Fired' show afterwards.

yes, more light entertainment than anything more serious than that. The guy that got fired this week didn't seem to me like a credible leader/manager. That said, I have seen plenty of blokes like that when I worked in sales 7 years ago. More noise than results.

If he was genuinely a sales whizz he would not have been able to curtail his enthusiasm to sell, because that's how it is with sales people. It's an URGE!!!

Him standing back shows me that's how he runs the show, by having a good sales team that he directs as oppose to doing anything much himself. That or maybe he's lost his confidence somewhere along the way?

The apprentice picks the craziest, most outgoing egotistical nutters that apply imo! (sorry if you know someone on the show!) :D but seriously, they are there to make good TV not to showcase their amazing unique talent.

I keep laughing at the guy who regards himself as a 'brand'

I think it's easier to predict who is not going to win than who is.
