Anyone use Froogle?

Asked here bfore about how to get one of those autofeeds to load your products onto froogle but nobody replied, I think it can work very well if your prices are competitive like ours are. Going to look into it once the site is fully working middle of next week.

I use froogle and get quite a bit of traffic through them. I'm not sure how many turn into sales but I think it's quite a lot. In my business I find that i sell best to people who search for a particular product such as "Armani Sunglasses 9052" rather than just "Sunglasses". If someone put a product speciic search into Google then chances are I will appear in the Froogle listing which of course is one of the first things the searcher sees.

We get regular sales through Froogle, but I think it varies a lot between products. The way I see it it's free so it's worth trying. It's just been changed to fit in with Google Base which is receiving greater attention from Google so it might generate more interest in future.

It's definitely worth doing. When I ran a site selling shawls with some friends it had a surge in sales when it first got listed on Froogle... though admittedly that went down when some large suppliers flooded it by uploading their entire database of several thousand shawls!

Once it's set up it's no hassle to update; I just wrote a very simple script to create the CSV from our back-end database and uploaded it to Froogle once a month.

I posted my products on Froogle and they came and went rather quickly even though they had a 30 day expiry. The guys at Google recommended loading up the file each week to keep the products in Froogle. They didn't show my products for a short while as I had Free P&P listed which is not allowed, however more than 3,000,000 products have Free P&P listed in the US Froogle and they don't get their products dropped like I did, I thought that was quite odd!?

For the best instructions on creating and uploading your file look at Google Base, just type Google Base in Google and it should come up...

Cheers, Trevor
