As the title says

I have a blog-source (not my blog) where your comment will be on a PR6 page. You type your comment with your chosen anchor and assuming it gets approved, hey presto a PR6 do-follow.

I will limit this to the first 5 people to post below. I will then PM you the link.

is that a dig at me or are you posting to claim?

It's a dig at you. Stop encouraging people to spam other people's hard work. People should comment on blogs to add value, you are encouraging people to do it for a link. All this does is make work for the people who run quality blogs.

So I am going to get a link to a blog that I don't have a clue what they are blogging about.

Then I am going to post a comment on a blog even though I know absolutely nothing about the subject matter just to get a link.

If that's not spam WTF is it?

Well, you read the blog and if you feel you dont have anything relevant to say you click off.

If you do have something relevant to add, you post a comment. If the blog owner likes what you have put and feels it adds value, they will allow it. I believe thats how these things work.

People spend hours trying to find high PR sites for links and then most of them are no-follow. My original intention was to give a few of you the heads-up in a friendly way. That is all.

You've got it all so horribly wrong, just like the other thousands out there that think the same!

How many times does it have to be repeated on this forum, don't pay any attention to PR or whether a link is dofollowed/nofollowed!

Just to confirm that the actual blog post is a PR6 do-follow page? That the comments are not filled with spam and the blog owner is happy to accept what may be irrelevant comments?

It just seems all very iffy especially when you say you have lots of these blog posts you use for link building.

No the blog owner will not accept spam comments, thats the terms and conditions sort of thing - the post has to be relevant to the topic.
Good point. I wonder how much time a blog owner has to spend weeding out all the well disguised crap that turns up after someone promotes a free PR6 link like this.

I wouldn't thank someone for spreading the word on a forum frequented by IMers that I had a desirable page for them to advertise/spam on.

Having a PR6 page can be a curse :D

I agree with that

Dammed if you do dammed if you don't

Why do people feel the need to respond so negatively to these type of posts, Relavant posts help in Seo, a good blog will be moderated and if the content is poor it wont be added.

Give the guy a break

Nitro - Try and help and look what you get, 'abuse'. Ignore them.
Agree however I'm still a little incredulous that there are all these PR6 posts available for commenting. It would mean the blog homepage must be very highly respected with wodges of inbounds making comment moderating a major headache for the owners.

Why are some people so bloody negative? When a guy comes on and offers something that may have value to others, he should be thanked. If you don't like what the guy is offering then fair enough forget it but don't spend time trying to knock it! What about giving something yourself instead of being negative. Sorry for my rant but this negativity gets me down.

It's called putting forward a point of view and offering some education about why this isn't helpful to owners of high page rank blogs - of which I'm one.

The negativilty is not the offer itself but the worked required by the blog owners filtering out the spam that results form offers such as this. If you stumbled across such a blog post and commented all would be well. But too many spend their time searching out these blogs and then use them for link building - you don't just get one comment, you get bucketloads that all need moderating. It's a pain in the bum.

Yeah right on! Blog owners love wading through 100's of spam posts by people with piss poor sites trying to scrounge links. It makes their day seem worth while.

The posts wont show untill its been accepted by the moderator, no different to looking at a forum like this with post full of Shite and repsonding to the ones that take your fancy.

More posts awaiting moderation, the bigger the time burden in processing them, no? This burden might feel worthwhile if comments left were actually worth reading. But if the motivation for leaving the comment in the first place is PR, what are the chances of that happening?

I've seen smart blog owners accept comments on their high PR blogs without nofollow on their comment links and then when posts had attracted enough comments to seem popular, they turned on nofollow. LOL.
