Is there anyone here who uses the Disqus comment system?

I have/had it set up on a couple of my blogs, but for the past week or so it has been slowing down my pages loading or stopping them fully loading.

If anyone else has had any problems, did you find a solution?

    Hi Giannii

This is the blog it is causing problems on
    http://www.podline.co.uk/info/?p=850

The widget at the top of the sidebar (defaulted to popular) doesn't seem to ne working either.

The slow loading isn't always happening and the pages do load, I just get the green bar in IE showing me the page isn't fully loading.

Just to add: I'm using version 2.33.8752
    Is that the latest version?

I've seen it on the Telegraph website and it's forever freezing my browser or not loading at all. The past few weeks seem to be OK though.

    I see what you mean,
just had a look at some of the telegraph blogs and the same thing happens.
The pages load OK, but I still get the green bar at the bottom of my browser only getting half way across then hanging.

Disqus can be terrible with speed and has been noted many times. We use it on some clients websites although the speed isnt always an issue.

the loading time some time is to much and the comment plugin will not load even you refresh "n" number of times so just stay away from it

Are you using the WP plugin? This should load asynchronous so your site will load and not be stopped by disqus.

Last few days I have had a couple of issues with it not loading so I think something did happen.

I use it so the comments are all linked across all sites.

What is the CMS of the website? If it's an open-source one, such as Wordpress, what's the point in using the Disqus then? Wordpress does have the built-in commenting system that works well and that doesn't depend on some third party proprietary solution.
