Anti-Spam Solutions for Windows Servers?

Can any one reccomend a good anti-spam product for a Windows SMTP server. It'll need to be compatible with Mailenabble.

Our upstream provider used to block spam very effectively on their firewall but they decided to stop the service with no notice.

I've looked at Spam Assasin ports for windows but the feedback I've read is that they are very intensive on the CPU and it's not multi-threaded.

I've had very good results with ASSP (http://assp.sourceforge.net/). It's probably best run on a separate box, but can work in conjunction with Exchange (etc).

It takes a little bit of training for the first week or two, but seems to work well.

Also heard very good reports about Trend, but that's probably more because of it's entrerprise options than it's filtering ability, and I haven't tried it personally.

This depends on how much money you want to spend, but I'd certainly recommend http://www.messagelabs.com

Basically your mail is redirected through their servers where it gets scanned for whatever services you have requested - anti virus, anti spam etc..

MessageLabs works out at a small fortune becuase I have hundreds of address to protect.

I've found something called SNITA that seems to be doing OK so far.

What version of Mail Enable are you using? Standard/Pro/Enterprise?

I run a ME Enterprise server, there is a built in Reverse DNS Blacklist you can use and add your own, we use DSBL - List, Open Relay Database, Spamcop, and Spamhaus.

I'm not sure if this option is available to shandard users, but *think* it is available to Pro users, if you need help PM me, there is a wealth of information @ http://forum.mailenable.com

I have pro - the black listing is enabled but it doesn't catch anywhere near everything.

You have Bayesian filtering on Enterpise - not available on pro : /

There seems to be lots of info in the Pro forum at the moment on the matter, might be worth a read, another thing is have you installed all the latest software updates? I believe the latest Pro version is 1.74

EDIT:

Ive heard Pinta mentioned a few times, but the age of the software concerns me...

I think I'll stick with SNIMTA. The code is available for $25, so I think I'll buy it and then improve it.
