Hi, I'm new to all this. The post was really useful! I'm really keen to learn about anchor links. How do I go about doing this?

Also am I OK to promote my company on here?

Reciprocal links can be a real pain to get when it comes to increasing your Google Page Rank (only do these if you are desperate as you may need lots and lots). The suggestions made on this forum are all excellent, just make sure you have good, quality content with good keywords on your site as this can help drive your site up the rankings.

Hi guys, I'm new here, just thought I'd add some things to the list, one of which is to make sure your web designer codes using semantic xHTML. Most probably will do, but creating a good quality site is always a good base to begin your website marketing, those good foundations will at least give your site every chance in the long run.

Also if you are an iPhone user, you can use Audioboo to create mini podcasts. This could be useful to supplement an existing blog. You could also use your webcam to record video blogs and messages, maybe show your customers a bit of your business they don't normally see?

Lastly and most importantly, don't underestimate the possibilities a good copywriter can bring to web strategy. I sometimes find myself writing copy for clients, and OK I have a GCSE in English and can write a bit(I think :D), there's no substitute for professionally written content.

I have found from the list that yahoo answers has brought some visitors to my site. Also, digg aswell. Keep plugging away with things I guess, I am thinking also, that the power of these ideas may take a good while to fully appreciate.

Great information here.

I hope you dont mind, but we have linked a copy through on our forums just to pad it out slightly, but we have fully referenced it back to the original on this forum and credited mattk with the work.

You can view our copy at forums.netwisehosting.co.uk.

Thanks.

Matt, That's a great post - but was made way back in 2007.
How do you think it's changed between then and now?

YouTube and Google Video are excellent portals on which to launch a viral campaign.
That is true. As an internet marketer, I know the importance of video marketing. More often than npot, a quirky keyword will have a youtube video on top...
