Hi MattK and thanks for posting the suggestions; i've started submitting to Digg as a result of reading your ideas. One which i'm stuck on (and maybe some others) is this one -

Syndicate your site's content by using an RSS feeds.

If you have time can you drop a couple of lines about how to do this or point me to a web self help area?

thanks

It seems that to sit back and watch the money roll in,means work your way through a huge amount of lists and then what. Start all over again. Why isn't page rank important. I'm fairly new to this and seem to pick up a lot of conflicting advice

nice list, but 49th about charity is not that effective - links should be in the same content as your website.

I may need some help with SEO. Can anyone advise me on a good SEO company who is genuine with proven results, and importantly won't get me in trouble with the search engines. I keep hearing horror stories of people getting "sandboxed"!

thanks

Great post but would be great to get this updated - existing techniques are always changing whilst new techniques are always appearing.

Such as:
8. Place a free ad for your company on Gumtree.

My friend was complaining the other day that once upon a time she could place a free ad on Gumtree, they now charge her £4.95.

Maybe replace with the free Twitter which seems to be THE way to gain exposure to your website/service.

I just made a website called

directlisted dot com

Placing your ad will be free at the moment so hurry up. Its a UK classifed ads directory and i just put it onlie like 2 days ago.

The site is basically finished but it is constantly changing because its not 100% yet.
