Great resource... covers most of the basics for a general overview. However I would like to add that each website has a different target market and requires unique approaches in finding traffic. What works for one site may not work for others. You really have to be creative in finding new customers...

Hi Matt,

The one thing that I would like to add to your exhaustive list (if it hasn't already been in the last 11 pages) is to ping your blog posts and new content pages using a Free service such as Ping-o-Matic! (can't include the link here as I don't have enough posts yet!:)) which helps getting your pages and new content indexed quicker.

Regards,
Darryl.

I have started doing this for a living recently. I don't claim to be an SEO expert by a long shot, what I have been doing basically is a lot of the obvious things that some of my customers could probably have done themselves if they had the time. Because I'm extremely competitive I get the business. :)

As such this list has proved really helpful. I was surprised how many of these things I have been doing already, but it was equally useful in flagging up a lot of things I hadn't thought of. Thanks for all the effort that went into this.
