  51. Upload a favicon.gif file so that your users have a nice icon when they bookmark your site.
  52. And that's it!
I was inspired to write this by superflytrainer who posted an excellent 101 ways to get more traffic thread on DP. Alot of the tips have been posted on various forums and blogs, so I make no claim that they are all my own. I have simply tried to collate them into a list and expand where possible. Feel free to plagirise this list to your own ends, but please link back to (I'm no) Search Engine Optimisation Expert if you do.

I've tried to be as accurate as possible with my links, but feel free to point out any glaring ommisions!

Firstly, great list. I thought I would put a link to your site, but when I saw the last post was 2008, decided not to. All that work and you did not get a link.

thankfuly, due to the help of my cupcakes, I am in a position to carry out number 29 myself although think that having the url put across the backside of my jeans would be even more effective at this present moment in time!!

A quick search around the internet shows this list and variations of it all over the place. Mattk did you write this yourself or did you just "compile" it?

Assuming that you did write the original copy and you can prove it then here's a tip (for you this time). Search around for websites that have copied it and ask them to either remove it or to post a link to your website as a credit.

Thanks for such huge list of tips. I have another question for you and expecting a kind reply from your side. Demoz directory is not accepting my website. Don't know why but its more than 15 days and its still under review. Dont know what to do...

I waited 7 months and to be honest had given up, then it appeared.
If you have submitted it just site tight.

I found the best way to get sites listed is to submit to a category location related.
