Lancashire Payroll

Hi

We are a relatively new business with just a couple of clients at the moment (obviously hoping to grow that). However the question is, what software is best for a micro/small business for bookkeeping which can also produce sales invoices? Cost isn't really too much of an issue - would rather pay more for better software than a free version that doesn't do what we need.

Look forward to reading your replies :)

Welcome to the forum, there's so many options out there now it's a bit mind boggling, I do my sons book keeping and he uses Xero have to say I find it very good. I would only add whatever you choose make sure its compatible to HMRC's new MTD. On that note if you go on their website they have a whole list of compatible systems you could check out

I am sure a few more members will jump on later with some suggestions and hopefully narrow options down a bit for you.

Just a thought what software does your accountants recommend, they may well work with one provider and can get you a good discount on the monthly subscriptions, plus if you have any questions on it they will probably know it inside out.

    You have SO much choice.

Personally I rate Accounts Portal highly - it works well, is well supported and is very competitively priced. I use it for my own records and have a lot of clients who use it now too. Its quick and easy to produce sales invoices on the system. It also has a facility for recurring invoices which is great if you do monthly billing.
