Hello Everyone,

I have a small limited business with a very modest turnover. I have always submitted the year end accounts and CT600 myself via HMRC's online filing service (I have a background in Accountancy)

I have recently found out that they are closing this service on the 31st March 2026.

I use Sage to produce my accounts, however the software they provide to submit year end accounts is only available to accountancy firms.

I'm not really sure what to do going forward. Is anyone aware of any software that I can use to submit my year end tax calculations and accounts that won't cost a fortune and is suitable for a small business like me?

Thanks in advance.

I successfully used VT Accounts this year.

I was already using VT Transaction+, but that is not a pre-requisite as far as I am aware. I decided to part ways with my accountant and DIY everything, as I have spare time.
I use VT for my clients bookkeeping and then other tax software to submit the accounts to HMRC, I did not think VT had the capability to submit a CT600 to HMRC?

I've not used it for a long time but TaxCalc is worth a look - they do single user versions of the CT software

That’s really frustrating, especially for small businesses that just want to keep things simple. A lot of us are in the same boat with HMRC closing the service. There are a few low-cost CT600 filing options out there, like TaxCalc or Absolute, which are designed for individuals as well as accountants. They’re not free, but they’re cheaper than going through a firm. Might be worth keeping an eye on whether more budget-friendly tools pop up closer to 2026 too.

To verify the UK Government insists in bio metrical documentation.
As it should. Far too much fraud happening.

I would suggest looking at Andica.

Thanks everyone for the replies, and I will check out some of the software recommendations. Just one more question, the software they now want us to use, is it literally just a case of you uploading your information like you do currently with the HMRC site? Just trying to figure out how it all works.
I don't really understand what the difference or point is, if this is the case 🤔
