One of my new sites (www.360virtualtours.co.uk) is only a few weeks old, and I have just re-designed the whole site. I have not really done any SEO apart from a few obvious things, but I was pleased that it went strtaight up to page 3 for the search term 360 virtual tours.

What suggestions have you got for getting this to page 1? Is it simply a bit of link building thats required, or can some things be done with the on-site seo?

I'm doing this as a personal challenge and would love to reach page 1 within a few weeks!:eek:

Get some quality inbound using "360 virtual tours" as the anchor text.

The number 1 result has 2k inbound links so good luck with that :)

Yeah, we're pretty new kids on the block, so may take some time to get up with the big boys!

Is that right then, that inbound links are really the only way of getting that number one spot?

Actually the .com is a testing area for this new site we are about to launch on Moday, once all the meta is complete. I wanted to promote this as the existing known site is stale. The .com site will eventually be used to target UK based customers, whereas our .co.uk will be for East Anglian targets. What you may have noticed is that the Google API does not work on the contact page for this very reason. It is registered solely for the .co.uk
I hope that answers your question?

This reminds me of those 'impartial' Natwest financial advisors that absolutely definitely under no circumstances nosireebob try to sell you Natwest products during your free impartial chat with them :p

If your business is selling SEO services then you are not offering impartial advice, you are using a soft sell on your website visitors.

OnPage Tips
You have duplicate title tags on your home page and portfolio page and maybe the contact page isnt quite different enough.

You want to focus on optimising one page for the keyword and then whenever you use the key phrase 360 virtual tours on any other pages make it a link to the page you are optimising this is called internal linking and people forget how much of an impact this can have.

also try and put the phrase in bold text so if it is your homepage your trying to optimise put the term 360 virtual tours in bold, dont over do it bolding once or twice will be enough to add value but more than this might be classed as over optimising.

then concentrate on a steady consistant backlink campaign.

steady wins the race :-)
