buying laptops in bulk.. where from?

I need to buy 15-20 Dell laptops and wondering if anyone knew the best place to get these from. I have been to Dell directly and they have offered a small discount, but just wanted to see if anyone knew of anywhere else to try

There isn't anywhere else, Dell only sell direct hence why you do not see them in PC World, etc.

I'd recommend contacting a reputable Ebay Powerseller if you don't mind non-Dell - find one with loads of listings and high feedback and you may find them offering you a great deal for a bulk purchase.

Dell do not sell direct.... we are a dell reseller and can normally do dell cheaper than dell sell themselves (believe it or not) we sell large amounts to NHS and so on so our discount structure is normally very good. PM me a spec/model number and i'll fire over a price.

Can I ask why you want Dell in particular? Why would a reputable small business like Myself, Comspec or Stugster not be able to quote you for such systems?

I have a PO on my desk for 1000 laptops but they must be branded with my customers logo, i have spoken to most of the main stream manufacturers but they are not interested. does anybody know of any other manufacturers who would be willing?

I know of a company that does proper laptop branding (skins coloured, then logos applied over the top) but as for the manufactures doing this then no.

I had to roll out a large number in a certain colour with company logo, for an estate agent, works well walking into each office with the HP laptops on Docks all facing the customer when they enter.

The VAR channel has been round for a while, however I cannot see the point in buying Dell notebooks through a VAR as the margins (I know the server margins) must be tight so I'm not sure what you would gain. :|

Correct in the minimal margins, value add resellers tend to win the business over dell as they can match/beat dells price and add more services to the deal we tend to offer config/imaging services across machines as well as install to desk. Something Dell won't do, and to still be in with a chance of selling their products offer that price break to the channel.
