Searching for Business Grants

I've been tasked by the company I work for to search for Grants for our Business Expansion that is about to occur.

We're moving to bigger premises in South East Midlands, buying new machinery, hiring more employees and starting our own abattoir.

We are a Food Processing Company that has Retail, Exports to Supermarkets and to Businesses around the EU and we do Catering.

I've found many interesting Grants so far, but I'd to know if there any others that I haven't found yet that is specifically what we're looking for.

For exporting, talk to DIT

Others will probably be more localised and relate to use of brown field sites (if relevant), job creation and skills training

In many cases they require matched funding and/or proof of funding for the remainder.

If your company is seeking debt-based finance to support the move, please get in touch

Where in South East Midlands? Exact location is important, different local councils have differing local development plans and the siting of an abattoir is a contentious subject.

Have you already found a site or are you still looking? A rural site may be more advantageous.

Luton, Bedfordshire. We've taken over this ex Best Buy looking warehouse and are currently finishing up the plans.

@Samuel_B We can't tell you which grants you might have missed, when we don't know which ones you have found. However if you look at the regional business organisation for your area, speak to the business team at your local council and your local chamber of commerce, they can point you in the right direction.

Your business could also look at business loans, as there aren't like to be a lot of large scale grants available.

@Samuel_B definitely worth looking at the velocity grants available . They have grants of up to £50k available, also depending on postcode location depends on what you could potentially apply for. Our team at Support for Businesses has lots of experience of applying for these funds on behalf of clients. If you want a chat to discuss this further, then feel free to send me a message.

Support for businesses is a company that has been setup to help businesses access support that is readily available but sometimes not easy to access or understand. We’ve worked with a number of businesses to help them access funding and realise their ambitions for growth and success.

No business needs to go through us to access funding and we share all opportunities we know of, but sometimes a business may need assistance with applying for the funding in completing the grant application and due to funding being public money, it can be a bit of a process.

How does someone get in touch with you? Web site, etc ?

Velocity is one of the companies I found. I contacted them, but they never got back to me in the past couple of weeks.

We aren't going for Loans right now unless there is no interest involved. The grants I've been looking at are Feast Funding, RDPE Growth Fund and Manufacturing Growth Fund. These are the main one's I'm currently working with right now that we meet the requirements.

The business team for the local council sounds interesting and I'll message them later this week.

We have vast experience of helping businesses apply for RDPE funding and other EU funding similar to feast. Fees vary depending on the type of application and level of detail needed. We usually give a client a free consultation to begin with to make sure we are a right fit for them and so that we can understand their project better. If that works out then costs can be discussed and a plan drawn up. I can be contacted through here but can’t post an email address yet as I haven’t got 30 posts, if we can’t assist you then we have a network of contacts that we can refer you to. Our experience is not limited to just one consultant as we have a host of consultants with experience of working on RDPE and EU funding programmes. Our aim is to deliver real and meaningful business support.
