Hello everyone!

I have recently set up a real estate website which will be for properties in the suffolk area called more property space.

The website will be for listing properties to rent, buy and sell all basic category listings will be free of charge for 6 months after that there is a charge for £5 per property for the remainder of the year. There is also a featured option where the property listing will be advertised on the home page and slide for the website this option i am charging £15.

Is this too expensive ?

I currently have someone working on SEO to increase the ranking/visitors for the site.

Other then hiring someone to do SEO with my remaining budget of £150 per month what will be the ideal marketing option to get people signing up and listing there properties onto my website ?

Speak to some estate agents in the local area and see if they are interested in listing a property on there?

Would likely need to have good levels of traffic though for them to be interested.

Right move have it cornered really.

Pointless spending any money on SEO. A complete waste of money.

The only way you will get anyone listing on the site is if it for free.

See your other thread here: http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=296637

Sorry to be so blunt but you are not going to get anywhere using a $50 wordpress theme. This is not going to make you any money at all.

If you want to compete with rightmove et al then you need to be different - don't try to do the same thing that everyone else is already doing.

Exactly, they will be getting hundreds of page views everyday using rightmove. They don't need your site - unless you can show them serious traffic then there is no incentive to list.

Remember as well that with rightmove they have a bulk upload facility and full editing suite - they will want the same functionality with your site.

Maybe should have done that before you launched the website.

I honestly can't see it working. You'd need an awful lot of
money to throw at this and even then you're fighting an uphill battle against all the other property portals.

You can't offer anything extra to them other than a cheaper price but that's not really a big draw as everyone is cheaper than Rightmove. Just they have unrivalled coverage.

Yeah I think many of them use Vebra which manages their whole portfolio including appointments.

They're not going to entertain maintaining property on another website.
