I been in the building trade for over 25 years. I pay 2 carpenters, 1 plasterer, 1 plumber, 1 electrician, 3 multi trades and a few young trainees every week.
It's not easy, But we get lots of work year in year out. I guess that's because i'm not a bright spark? Or I don't reply to emails or can't?

Well obviously the bigger builders have websites ,and like you some even have a bit of savvy but i am talking in general..

whats your website by the way ? POST the url ... i will some time in the next few days ,"Not saying when" send you a email over .. and you can reply i shall then post the date of sending and the date of reply.. If its quick i shall admit that builders are on the ball , if no reply well we can end the debate , and i shall have proved my point .

The construction industry is a big industry but is very fragmated and dominated by small sub contractors - very afew large PLCs . Even big boys mostly sub contract the works.
The physical/hands on / bespoke nature of the work does not really fit digital model - lot of people tried it but with no real success as yet. Purely for the reason that they do not have sufficent manpower to deal with all generic enquiries. They mainly concerntract of personal recommandations and personal contacts.
I am a surveyor and run a project management/ construction firm and I can tell you less than .5% of enquries resulted in contract . We are in process of changing the website and business model to attract more business but it all cost money and most trade do not have either.
For small job always ask for personal recommadation even if you pay more and have to wait ; good trades men worth their salt

He probably is my Dad died over 20 years ago . Got run down by a builders truck , that was over loaded with scaffold pipes , and cement sacks ...
