The forum community has rapidly declined over the years due to people being banned and due to people being unhappy with how the forum is operated. It's just a fact.
FaerieB was one of the few vocal members left who kept discussions going, but now she's banned as well, so it's going to be yet another blow to the very fragile (and almost non-existent) community spirit.
I don't particularly care about moderator actions, and I do believe that it's fairly straightforward to avoid being banned if a person wishes to do so. However, moderation activities (whether justified or not) have played a massive part in what I would call the downfall of UKBF. The forum community is just about gone, and now the only thing left is members asking questions or giving answers. It's all rather robotic.
For many months FB has only ever posted in Time Out, correct me if I am wrong here - but this is a business forum, and I have not noticed a dropping of questions being asked/replied to!
I imagine when people are searching for business advice they search under 'business advice' and not 'time out'!
Sure time out is good light relief, but it is NOT what the board is about, and not what the paying members (who I imagine without, there would not be a board) pay for!
People come and go, so are you in fact saying that the 'banned' members 'were' the board, and without them it is doomed
If you feel the board is robotic, then alter your postings and try to change it, for those who are not happy with the board, then move on!
Lots of people from many walks of life seem to rub along nicely here, the odd turf war breaks out, but in the main it is handled and dealt with in an adult way (no one makes you get yourself banned).
Anyway, should any banned member wish to return then they can - they are not frogged marched stood against a wall and shot

just a little ban from a forum
