keyword domain?

I have a local service business.

If i bought a domain name with my exact main key phrase, what would be the best way to use the domain?

I dont want to create a whole new site linking to mine as i believe in keeping it simple and i may lose people who wont click the link.

I would love to be able to redirect the keyword domain straight to my site, but then i have heard that google wouldn't be able to index a redirected domain or can they?

Use the keyword as ur main site, change the dns o. Your original to point at the keyword, on ur advertising list the first one you had, which is probably your biz name ?

Your original domain registered with who ever u did, point that at your host for your keyword rich domain, that's what I would do anyway,

But I gather from your other post you already have a site live, which could upset things,

if your not getting any work off the site then you could just go ahead and do it,

but do you know how many tomes a month your keyword is searched?

the only real options are to either change domain (which isn't perfect at all, and means that any links you have in place, and directories etc will throw you out. Or to host a second site with content on that drives traffic and link juice to your main site. I would add a blog on the domain.

OWG's top tip on local search volumes.

For local trades & services in smaller areas etc, forget about adding the locality to check volumes, simply find out the generic terms used the most, then add the locale e.g. I live in Neath, which is close to Swansea, which is in South Wales, which is part of wales. People are highly unlikely to search for 'plumber in wales or plumber s wales, they are far more likely to search for plumbers neath, or possibly Plumbers swansea, and then Plumbers south Wales.

So research your generic search terms, and then target all these in the combination of the local geographic operator.

Just use 301 redirection on old domain.

Using the new domain as a main site and redirecting on a 301 redirect is the common way to do it. However (i am sure that some one can remember the answer to this) Check how the 301 redirect effects your current google status and links.
