what is the cheapest domain site?

I don't think cheapest is always the best, so I won't recomend the cheapest for that reason.

When I buy domain names I use Heart Internet, don't use thier hosting any more however I still get and keep my domains there. Prices are pretty good IMO and never had a problem, also If you need to forward the domain/s to hosting on another site it doesn't take very long at all from past expireance.

Hope that helps.

Hi, In terms of just registereding domains, I find 123-Reg quite cheap. robably not the cheapest.

I am not a big fan of their customer service, but it's cheap and it does what I need to do. I don't use them for hosting.

There will probably be about £5 difference between the worlds cheapest and the worlds most expensive so I don't think cost is really a factor. Pick a company with decent support and no transfer out costs and pay that bit extra. You'll be happier in the long run! :)

123 Reg and SmarterComs are quite cheap but as a previous post states cheapest is not always the best, but the above 2 are cheap and are good in terms of being able to manage your domain your self and having good customer services

Just looked at the 123reg site..£10 for a .com registration!!

Checkout NameCheap, Domainsite, Godaddy, Moniker, Enom.

namecheap.com i think is $11 for a .com theyre probably not the cheapest but support is fantastic, admin section is really simple and like someone lse said theyre isnt a huge difference between the most expensive and the cheapest.

If you look online you can probably find some special offer coupns/codes to reduce the price by maybe 10% also.

If you look around some sites used to sell .info for about $2 to help them sell but not sure if those offers are still around.

for .co.uk I recommend ukreg/fasthosts. I'm a nominet registrar with my own tag yet still keep my domains in my fasthosts account for ease of use organising them.

Surely that's false economy? Why if you are a tag holder are you using another registrar to hold the domains??

Why not? I don't have flashy tag admin software. It's easier to change nameservers etc via their webpage than me sending pgp emails. I can switch between the 2 for renewals.

You don't need any "flashy tag admin software" as the domains can be managed through your online account. Plus you get to purchase the domains at the base price.

I just can't see why you wouldn't take advantage of being a tag holder I suppose...

Sorry bit of confusion.... I register domains via my tag and use the online services, just use fasthosts as a holder as I find it better for admin such as nameserver changes.
