Hi,
I thought it was a good idea to take a couple of Windows 10 PCs from work (about to be binned) and give them to my two kids (9 and 10). Being a cheapskate and not wanting to spend any more money than I have to, I have been utilising Windows 10's parental controls. I've basically stripped the machines back to default settings leaving only Microsoft Edge as the browser. The kids have Microsoft logins and it all appears to work apart from Youtube. Youtube has facilites for children namely:
YouTube Kids (a website and also app)
Youtube (supervised login under a parent account)
Ideally I'm looking for a scenario like their now obsolete Kindle Fires where they just have an age-appropriate Youtube available to them. However, what I've found is:
1. Youtube kids is an app that cannot be downloaded to a Windows 10 pc. Although the youtubekids.com website is reachable via browser, you have to first sign in as the parent account which the child can then sign out of so make all of youtube available.
2. The Youtube website is age-appropriate if you login to a Google child account however you can circumvent this by signing out and then the whole of Youtube becomes available.
Am I missing something obvious? I believe I can download an Android emulator and then download Youtube Kids as an app but I want to check if I can do what I want without an emulator?
Thanks
Dan
