The reviewers bio is
Full of inconsequential guff. The review is still wrong.

You should get more traffic than you do if your claims re your seo skills have been applied to your own site. That's a no brainer.
Sigh....

The site ranks well internationally for a whole range of targetted keywrods and bunch more keywords that I don't care about. My point wasn't about ranking, it was that I get MORE traffic from other sources. Because that's my marketing strategy: I don't need the search engines for traffic.

@LeahG - you seem to be confusing two different things: Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org. They aren’t the same.

When did you last install Wordpress? It has changed a huge amount since v5

This is just what the review site stated, are you able to demonstrate where you got your stats from? Meanwhile can't use free version for commercial?
"
1. WordPress.com allows bloggers to insert text affiliate links within post and page content to most third-party affiliate programs, provided they are not the primary content of the site in question.

2. Image affiliate links in posts and pages and any banners, affiliate links in sidebar or footer widget areas, are still considered to be advertising and are not allowed on WordPress.com blogs."
I mentioned this because I had to use wordpress.org for commercial purposes.

And your referenced post was about Wordpress.com and therefore irrelevant.

I know, I used wordpress.org - re how long .... urgh ... I don't know I think about 9yrs ago, so yes I expect it's all radically changed.
It has. Which is why that review is wrong. You have taken advice from someone who clearly doesn’t know what they are talking about. Their bio is full of waffle and I wouldn’t be surprised if wix paid for the review.

Someone here cited other review sources and the conclusions matched?
They aren’t comparing apples with apple. Wix and Wordpress aren’t the same so comparing them makes little sense. Wix is not a cms. Wordpress is a cms.

Wix has been on a major marketing drive for some time and has been feeding news sources. Wordpress doesn’t market in the same way.

If you want to use wix that’s fine. If you want to use Wordpress that’s equally fine. One isn’t better than the other. They are just different.

Also worth noting that most reviews focus on Wordpress.com not the self hosted version.
