Windows XP laptop wanted

Hi,

My mum is looking for cheap laptop. She has a PC but wants something she can work from in bed or watching TV etc.

It should run on XP, be able to run word/excel/youtube and have Wifi. Smallest screen size is 14inch.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of something cheap? (Not a budgie)

A friendly word of warning - if she intends to use the laptop in bed, ensure it is sitting on top of a tray or suchlike, as if you set it onto the blankets, it will cover the cooling fans and overheat. Overheating will wreck your system as surely as anything else you might care to do to it.

yea, i tend to usually get laptops with vents to the side rather than underneath.

Hi Tony,

Do you have a budget in mind at all, as the range of laptops currently available with 14 inch screen sizes are more expensive now than the 15.4 inch screens,
We have a massive range of laptops in stock available but offering you any would be better if you have a price range you are happy with ,

Have a look at Europc: http://www.europc.co.uk/. They have a lot of end of line laptops (many with Windows XP) at pretty low prices.

why windows xp? you can get some pretty decent brand new windows 7 with 3GB ram from ebuyer now for less than £300. These would be far better, last longer and more powerful than any Win XP laptop. *doh just realised !!! *FACEPALM*

Prob best for a mod to kill the thread and put it out of it's misery now
