By your logic, every business will end up being forced by law to have cats in the workplace.

They have those squat toilets on Crete too - I encountered them for the first time when on honeymoon there. Not my cup of tea but if they catch on over here it won't be the end of the world. This is a multi-cultural country and is all the better for it, as far as I'm concerned. Funny how we're quite happy to take on some aspects of foreign culture (like the food - isn't curry Britain's favourite dish?) but not others

I can't see any reason why, if these toilets became popular, the government would introduce legislation to say that we *have* to offer them as an alternative to pedestal toilets. Really, what would be the point?

I can honestly say I've never looked at a toilet and been filled with pride I think as a country we've achieved a lot of more important things than toilet design. And if Crapper hadn't thought of it, someone else would have eventually

You've picked a few very extreme examples there. It's absolutely right that we should choose not to support stoning and things like that - they're harmful, and disgusting.

But having the choice of a squat toilet or a sit-down toilet? I'm sorry, but it's just not a big deal IMO

In regards to the actual toilets, it is the principal that I worry of, getting back to the original post my concern is that this will eventually, in years ahead not in the foreseeable future become law that we as businesses have to pay for this.

The reason I mentioned the "extreme" cases was in response to the point of wanting some parts of foreign culture and not others. This is Sharia Law and it is very much wanted by very many people and they are getting very much closer to getting it. We should have choices in what aspects we want and which ones we dont.

This is a very small step towards massive differences.

I personally could not give a damn how other cultures use their toilets, it is a matter for them and if a rich businessman wants to provide toilets it is a matter for him what he wants to do with his company expenditure. There are many who may think we as a company spend far too much money on our dogs, that is a matter of opinion.

My whole point is that it may in years to come, as is disabled toilets become law. This government is doing nothing to halt the barmy legislations and indeed are adding to them. Companies have for years provided pensions as a good will and soon it is becoming Law.

It is LAW that a company has to give enough breaks to their staff so they can pray but it is not law that we as Christians do not work on the sabbath in accordance with the Bible.

I understand it all sounds very far fetched now but many employment laws come from good will gestures.

One of the places we attend for patrols employs a few hundred people. The employers objected to all these breaks as it means stopping mid track of there work. They were taken to a tribunal and lost as it was deemed discriminatory not to allow them their required breaks. They now have to give them their required breaks as well as a sizable prayer room, exclusively for their use.

No I do not have a case reference before you ask, I would not ask them just to prove a point to you - he who knows everything and has witnessed every scenario that could be.

The great british public cannot even be arsed to clean up after them when everything is provided to make such a simple task, easy.
