Yes, the reason for this is millions of people would be free to choose and want to show the BBC what they really think of being forced to fund them for years.

Mate you need to wake up, they host childrens ceebebies, BBc Stargazing live. Dont they also host master chef.

Mate you need to realise there are other sources, the BBC aren't all that no matter how much you like it.

The fact the BBC don't want a voluntary subscription should give you a clue as to what they think will happen. At this time Sky has 10 million volontary subscribers, something the BBC could only dream off

Its the other junk that i am surpised survives. Channel five, 4 etc.

I happen to think Ch4 make some great shows and brilliant documentary's, unfortunately I can only watch them as catchup because of the BBC

Voluntary Subscribers! Dont make me laugh many are with then because thats the only way they can get telly!!!, Milton Keynes is like that.
Plus they get more channels for their money than just BBC, like their films, documentaries and so forth.

nope but i can agree to disagree. and i hv far higher bills than the cost of the tv license to worry about

Wrong again, BT are one of the companies that offer IPTV & Freesat is here too as you can see although its not free because you have to fund the BBC first. Now unless you both wish to deny those two things then you'll find its a fact
