What type of hosting package?

Most hosting companies tend to offer two main types of hosting
-basic hosting packages £2.99 - £6.99 per month.
-reseller/VPS hosting packages £14.99 - £30.99 per month.

My site is CMS based where I update it regulary and has a search facility for the users. Payments are collected off-site meaning no shopping cart involved etc. Question is, what type hosting is suitable for this type of website? Thanks

We offer 4 four hosting packages ranging from £2.49 - £14.99 per month and all come with MySQL databases email etc.

It is just down to your bandwidth requirements as stated above.

If your interested pm me and I will sort you something out.

Regards

Like everyone else has said, ultimately the most suitable package for you will depend on the monthly traffic generated. We have shared hosting packages from £4.99/month and although we aren't the cheapest we have been around for years (since 1995) so have years of knowledge and experience with excellent in-house support. Drop me a PM if you would like to discuss further.

Kind regards,

Simon

Dear Catherine,

The hosting would be dependent on the requirements of the content management system for example certain PHP modules may be required which are not always enabled on a shared hosting environment, although they can be modified via the php.ini file should you decided go for a VPS. Having said this you should be fine on using a shared hosting server as long as it of course supports PHP and Perl and includes at least one MySQL database.

I would recommend looking at Dynamic hosting or above with LCN.com

Kind Regards,

Craig

I've been using 5quidhost for a few years, hosting two sites using Joomla on their level 1 account which costs £2 per month for 125 MB space and 2GB monthly traffic - the rest is unlimited (number of e-mail accounts, sql databases etc).

That's also one of the things I really like about them - you only pay for space and traffic and don't have to upgrade just because you found that you need a few more mail accounts or logins.

Their £5 a month plan offers 2 GB webspace and 20 GB traffic per month. I just changed to that one today as, my monthly payment was due and I'm starting another site - it just took one e-mail and a couple of hours later it was done.

If you tell them you were referred by the owner of laf-art.com (my wife's art), I may even get one months worth of free hosting :)
