Email & website hosting recommendations

Question for techie types; looking for recommendations for email/website hosting.

Website side isn't a big concern, just a static site but needs a good robust email hosting package for up to 20 addresses on our own domain with large mailbox sizes.

We're on 123-reg at the moment but our site has suffered various malware attacks (I'm running MalCare subscription on top of the hosting package to combat this). Email reliability is very frustrating, they upgraded all my mailboxes to the latest version, have told me they'll now charge somewhere over £30 per box and seem to have problems every couple of months with access.

Currently use Microsoft Office suite with outlook for email client and would need a good business case to move away - but do I need to get with the times and ditch MS Office?

Any advice / recommendations appreciated.

Thanks

I’m with https://hostinguk.net/ and never had an issue. You can set up as many email accounts as you want in your cPanel at zero additional cost.

Other members here recommend Krystal hosting.

Whoever you choose has got to be better than the dreadful 123reg, godaddy, ionos et al.

And you can keep your MS Outlook thing if you want. You will just need to add the new accounts.

I use and recommend Krystal Hosting. Their Emerald Package offers everything you need and is PCI compliant if your website is transactional. Unlimited 50GB storage mailboxes. I use Outlook without any problems.

Read Krystal's TrustPilot reviews: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/krystal.uk

Another one for Krystal here. I've also used SiteGround in the past with no issues (I highly recommend them too). I only switched over because I wanted a green hosting provider.

Google workspace offers email service. It's used to be free but now they charge like $20 for 5 email addresses and 1 domain. They also offer hosting - google `google sites`.

I mainly use ionos, it's not as bad as you think. Most clients don't have any problems with it. If you're looking for something more user friendly than Hostinger is a great choice. I believe it includes 100 emails. Like others have said, Google workspace is fantastic.

You may also use the cPanel control panel that has MailChannels integration. It provides reliable email hosting and you can manage everything at one provider that way.

Hosting email separately with Google would be better if within budget. Otherwise, cPanel + MailChannels is a good combo. You just need to find a decent web host that uses cPanel + MailChannels.

We're using Squarespace for ours, seems to be quite easy to use
Except it doesn’t meet the requested requirements. And while squarespace might be easy to use it’s the wrong platform for your business.

Any shared hosting should should be good for your small website requirement. You can use Gsuite for emails if you wish.

Hey,

You have plenty of hosts in the UK that are great, to be honest, such as Krystal, Stablepoint and 20i.

The latter two are cheaper but also are top notch, do check them out and probably try to contact all 3 to see what you think suits you best.

Best of luck!

+1 for Siteground....

(And on the list to avoid... Many years ago through this forum I signed up with Vidahost and had a few years excellent service. They were then taken over by TsoHost and this very soon became an abominable mess of failed server upgrade promises, prolonged unannounced site down times and Customer Service that would make RyanAir look ultra friendly - Avoid at all costs.)

They are actually owned by Godaddy now, I think that's what caused a big downturn on their rep over the last few years.
