Good evening.

After undertaking a website revamp over the past few months we would welcome any feedback offered.

One of the main considerations for the new website was to improve traffic/enquiries, specifically from the core pages from our 'services' and 'acoustic solutions' menu.

We are happy with the performance from the services menu as we get loads of enquiries but the acoustic solutions side has been dissappointing and we are wondering how it could be further improved, or if there are any major reasons why these pages don't seem to be performing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Generally it looks good, I noticed the mobile nav seems to use a hover which isn't ideal as hover doesn't work on mobile, but all else looked pretty good after a quick look.

Paul.
Thank you Paul, I'll look into the mobile issue.

I would suggest putting the primary selling message and CTA ( contact) at the top of each page and the gumpf underneath, as very few people scroll.

If you are not sure, use a heatmap tool like hotjar.

Hi Anne, it's been a long time since we last looked at your site. Things have changed a lot!

The only reason anyone will be on your site is because they need your services. It follows therefore that you need to focus on those services.

Bin the pointless hero image and the 'about us' and move those service buttons up above the fold.

White on Green is a bad combination. And a wall of buttons is a bit much. Consider some images to give it a bit of wow.

When I click on a button I expected to land on a page where you tell me about how you can help me. Instead I get this:

Where are all the details about the assessment? Why the three images?

It tells me to call today but there is no phone number.

The form is generic and not sure if it will tell you I need an assessment.

The case studies should all be categorised and published as individual posts (great for SEO).

Now to your question about 'acoustic solutions'. Maybe you aren't asking the right question. When people call you do they even use the words 'acoustic solutions'? That might be the correct technical tern but you need to use the words potential clients will use.

One last thing. It's sloooooow. Google tells you it takes 8 seconds to load the page.

White text on a pale green background is hard to read (under our services and solutions)

the contact us circle is the same blue as your background color on some sections, so it appears and disappears.
Thank you, I will add this to my list of queries

Hi Graham,

It has been a while and yes, we have changed A LOT!!

I will go through each point made and add to my list of queries to the site developer. The whole point of a new website wasn't to make it look pretty etc it was purely to modernise and improve lead conversions. I personally no longer manage things as its all moved on and beyond my technical knowledge, but I do however know when things are not quite right, proof is always in the pudding with more enquiries! I do have access to the WP CMS so can tweak.

We have maintained the 'case study' & 'local' pages on a regular basis, which I learnt from 'Tin' and yourself which seem to be fine, but its the core pages as mentioned.

Thank you for your response, which is always very much appreciated :)

Echo what fisicx said.

The copy on the landing page (about us) is pointless being there.

Your landing page needs to sell the big benefit of using your service. If it doesn’t, you’re gonna be making people work too hard to find out if you can actually solve their problem.

The about us section can still be relevant somewhere on the website, but what you’ve done their is made it all about you.

If you want to get leads and sells a service, make it all about them so it’s an easy decision on what to do next.

The whole things needs to be mega simple.

It’s less about how it looks, people don’t buy based on the colours of a website… they buy/enquire based on what you’re actually trying to help people/businesses with.

Your site developer isn't helping your business. There are lot of technical issues need sorting along with all the UX/UI problems and the overall structure.

The footer navigation for example is a complete mess.

You say you have case studies but where are they?

And why are you sending people off site to social platforms (that haven't been updated in months)

And why the shop. A complete waste of time. If you want to sell things set up a subdomain.

Get rid of the sliders and animations, bin the shop and rework the structure to promote the services. Each service should then link to category pages where you show off your work.

Thanks Graham, all taken on board.

The case studies are under 'latest news'

The shop is WIP

The sliders were used as main competitors also use same

My list is growing.....

Also, what I don't understand is that our 'acoustic enclosures' page comes up on page 1 Google search... so why are we not getting more from it? Is there a reason that stands out like a sore thumb?

Noooo!. It's not latest news. They are case studies and should be in the main menu and featured on the homepage. I took a look and you have multiple projects on one page. Each one needs to be a separate post.

The shop is WIP
Nope. Move the shop to a sub domain.

Never, ever copy your competitors

Maybe it's because only you call them 'acoustic enclosures'. When someone calls you how do they describe what they want? I'd call then soundproofed rooms or sound boxes.

Your site looks very Professional but I would like to recommend to change the Services display under "Our Services and Solutions". You can do a lot better than this, it not user friendly. Also, improve your website core web vitals and speed because it's a Google ranking factor. Your website speed is very poor.

1. You seem to have done some work with small studio installations, but the only image is a stock photo of a German demo room, featuring a couple of mics and a home keyboard, none of which really belong in a studio.

2. The images at the top of the home page have nothing to do with you and most, if not all of them, are not in the UK or of UK situations. The train and the cherry-picker and the crane are all Swiss. The rooftop AC is also not in the UK.

3. The images cross-fading and zooming is (IMO) irritating and their content is irrelevant.

4. The opening text mentions yourself six times and the customer twice. Nobody is interested in you, they are only interested in themselves!

5. Other pages - more very obvious stock images from Shutterstock.

6. A good ad tells a story. Taking a leaf out of John Caples' famous ad "They laughed when I sat down at the piano - but when I started to play . . ." (possibly the greatest print ad ever made!) I feel you should be telling one really strong story - perhaps about someone who thought they could DIY their own acoustic treatment and then had to come to you and were impressed and surprised at how much cheaper it is to get it right in the first place!

7. As mentioned repeatedly by @fisicx - detailed case studies and with real pictures and not Shutterstock images. It would be a good idea to add a before-and-after video with a soundtrack demonstrating the difference.

8. You have an online shop selling just one product - and the technical specs on those blankets seem rather sparse. What about bass trapping, acoustic tiles and the 1001 other things?

9. Your case studies are hidden away in the news pages - they should have their own menu at the top! The menu structure in general is (IMO) messy!

10. The acoustic booths do not have any technical specs - which would be the first thing I would be looking for.

Because the phrase 'acoustic enclosures' is utterly meaningless to anyone but you. No-one else uses it, so you get ranked #1 - you have NO competition. But you also have no clients because no-one searches for it so it is pointless.

Exactly right. This is how so many so-called SEO companies can promise Page 1 rankings.

I can't rank you for 'personal injury lawyer' but I can guarantee you the No 1 position for 'personal injury lawyer over the Tesco store in Putney with a red door'.

In the meantime, the real Google war is being fought over the words 'soundproof booth'.

Noticably long load time on mobile even on good WiFi. A quick blast through Pagespeed Insights confirms the problem. Google statistics on the negative implications of this are significant I’d suggest focussing on that as a priority.

I did a bit of looking through only on desktop and honestly it looks pretty good the SEO is not that bad either although I did notice on noiseair.co.uk/industrial-noise-assessments/ if you go down to the "If you’re not quite sure what you need give us a call, or complete the form and we’ll get back to you." in the text boxes "Company name" and "Your phone number" its not background text its actual text you need to remove in order to write whatever you'd like in that box although the your name, email, details all work properly
