Sadly I have to put my new blog up for sale, I just don't have the time to give it the attention it deserves and I would hate to see it go waste so I am going to put it up for sale and hopefully someone else can keep expanding it.

Domain Name
www.swick.co.uk - The domain name is a mixture of sweet/sick and we have tried to keep our content inline with that by showcasing sweet/sick stuff.

Date Blog Established
Registered on: 29-May-2009 and then launched on 1-June-2009

Google Page Rank
The homepage has a PR of 4 and the blog posts vary from 4-6.

Technorati Ranking
It is currently ranked 72,645 and authority of 46, but I only submitted it two weeks and this is climbing everyday.

Alexa Ranking
It's current 3 month alexa ranking is 78034, but it has only been around 2 months so the ranking is actually quite good.

Google Top Keyword Search Results
Funny Graffiti, Iconic Photographs and a lot of other phrases bring in traffic.

Revenue from Ads
It earns on average £2.57 (roughly $4.40) per day from adsense (Although I only put adsense only onto the website on the 15th july, just as I stopped posting on the website so I have no idea what the earnings would be like when the traffic is high.) (Adsense screenshot - http://twitpic.com/cyuri)
It currently earns $41.25 through buysellads, but this can easily be increased to $101.25 if you can find two advertisers. (BuySellAds screenshot - http://twitpic.com/cyuq1)

A combination of the above puts its monthly earnings are $170+ but this can easily be increased by selling text links with the high PR, posting articles more regularly or finding two advertisers for the buysellads spots.

As you can see the traffic was huge when we posting a lot and then it decreased as we stopped posted, but now in August the majority of the traffic is organic and I expect this to grow as the site ages and ranks better in google.

Hosting/Server
The site is hosted on my Media Temple grid server package which wont be included in the sale as I have a few other sites on it, although I will help transfer the site over to your hosting.

My Participation After Sale
After the sale I will be available to help transfer the site and make sure it is all working, but once its sold I wont be able to help out.

Posting Frequency
For month and a half it was 4-5 articles a week but after that I have been unavailable to post.

Yes it require 2-3 hours a day to keep the traffic up at the high levels, but it now makes around £2.50 a day by doing nothing, but I had a day where I released an article (http://swick.co.uk/index.php/2009/07/10-cool-bottle-openers/) and it made £4.87 so it does have room for improvement and all it would need is someone who could post regularly.

Yes I agree but it's not a money maker, it's a labout of love. Hence the value of the site will be low. To get a decent price you would have to show sustainable traffic/income over a longer period of time.

I thought that you had a load of people queing up to advertise on the site? Surely they will earn you morte than adsense?

I agree it isn't a huge money maker but it could probably make around £400-500 a month if I had the time to post 4-5 times a week again, which I am sure would help anyone pay the bills.

I had a few but they wanted to advertise links to gambling related sites I felt my soul was worth more than that. I still have two people advertising on the site and have left two spaces open but I am not actively pursuing people to fill them.

If you got £5/day that's £150/month. 4 posts per week at 2 hours per post is over 30 hours per month giving you an hourly rate of £5. That's less than the minumium wage. I can earn more delivering leaflets.

I'm sure that site has got lots of potential but a serious buyer will want to see sustained traffic over and extended period of time.

Your website is unique, its has these unique pictures which cant be found in other sites. Guess it was hard to find more unique pictures. You can add another article about Religions, Have the Religion logos as pictures.

I think you should carry on with this site you just need to add a few things to it.

Alexa rank is easily manipulated, one day it got 49,000 views and got a rank of 42,000 then a day a week or so later it got 20,000 views and had a rank of 29,000...

As for 50 uniques a day getting that ranking I highly doubt it unless they all had alexa toolbar installed.

I see where you coming from hence why I am not selling it for £6000.

I am looking for around £1300 which considering the site could sit and make me $170 ~£100 per month (this is with me doing 3-4 hours work a month) I feel it is a good deal as someone could buy it and post 1-2 times a month and make £100 or they could attempt to post more frequently and increase the earnings.

Ok just to clarify what I meant by this is. Right now it gets around 500 hits a day from google and people sharing links to my site on twitter etc and it makes around £2.50 this is with me doing no work.

But when I was working 2-3 hours a day i was bringing in atleast 10,000 uniques per day I just didn't have adsense on the site at the time so I don't know what it would make.

As far permeant links bringing in traffic, it is a regular on www.coedmagazine.com and has a spot in the footer links which is sitewide.

As for the price being to high maybe it was, but I sold it for £1,000 yesterday and yes YOU may of set one up for £60 but I highly doubt you would be able to set a blog up making £100 a month with a high PR and over 32,000 backlinks for £60...

Also it brought in over 300,000 uniques in june, if you had bothered to go and check you would of seen that. As for having 50k of weblinks it has 32k of weblinks so you were close.

1. Dunno where you got those links from, but its not the number you think it is.

2. There are thousands of blogs - why would 30'000 suddenly link to you - whats so different about your blog, that I can't find elsewhere.

3. It would take at least 2 years to get all those links, and Google would certainly kill your site as a consequence. Linking is tougher than ever anyway, and people just aren't linking like they used to.

4. No way does a 2 month old site get that many links to it - no way, unless you either bought them or their all crap, worthless links.

Yes I could, with my resources and knowledge of my industry, I could do it so easily. The reason I choose not to do it, is bcos I don't have the time nor the drive to do this, when what I do now brings me significant more traffic than some 2 month old blog with a few images.

That works out to 3.6 million (Per Annum) visitors, and you let it go for £1000 - uniques too .

See there's just too many things that just don't add up for this story of yours.... 300k of visitors a month for one thing, na, noone flogs that kind of worth for a measly £1000 You'd be chucking money down the plughole (if you sold the blog) and that doesn't make sense.

Sorry, but there's just too many factors working that will stop you from getting that traffic. I'm sure others will point them out and agree with me.

1. The links came from people liking my articles, 2,000+ alone come from the footer link I was given on www.coedmagaize.com which is one the top websites for 17-34 year old males.

2. Yes there may be thousands of blogs but its all about how you spread teh word about your blog, which I do really well.

3. Nope google rewarded it with a PR of 4 on the homepage and then 4/5/6 on the articles, check ranking number 3 - http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=iconic+photographs&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

4. Never paid for a link once all naturally generated.

To keep it at 300K uniques per month I would of had to work 3-4 hours a day and I am currently decorating my new house and it has to be ready for me to move in on september 1st so I just don't have the time so it had to go.

I may of chucked money down the plughole but I just didn't see the point in holding onto it while I couldn't work on it, I leanrt a lot of lessons in the 2 months I ran the site and I also have another successful blog (www.webdesignerhelp.co.uk) which I am happy with just running one for now.

Hopefully this will answer your questions, I just dont understand why you find it so hard to believe I could I bring in huge traffic and generate links so quickly.

Well if you had of read it all properly you would understand that on autopilot it was only bringing in 500-1000 a day, it took alot of work to keep the traffic at high levels.

And yes this thread can be closed.
